I i . - ; j COMMUNITY BULLETIN BOARD ; 4 ' I _ TO: Community Access Cable Board FROM: Jim Given, Recreation Superintendent DATE: April 9, 1990 SUBJECT: PRODUCTZON FORMAT RECOMMENDATIONS , We are now preparing to develop a format and line of communication to most efficiently produce two (2) different Lynwood Showcases per month. FACTS 1. Essentially we will need two (2) weeks to actually produce a showcase after all ideas are confirmed. 2. We are now and will continue to develop a library of different; concerns, activities, programs and concepts. This will allow , certain segments to be prepared without a"special shoot." 3. It is imperative that the Cable Board concurs with all proqram I material in their position as Executive Producers. . I RECOMMENDATION RELATIVE TO PROCESS: 1. Cable Hoard provide direction to staff relative to Regular SecTments I for the Lynwood Showcase (i.e. Bulletin Board, Graffiti Watch, Interviews with elected officials, etc.) Also relative time elements. I 2. Cable Board provide direction relative to special segments at least two (2) showcases in advance. Staff requests both a recommended ! subject matter and subject. 3. Staff would then zequest authorization to develop a script either i independently or working with a sub committee. It is requested this sub committee be a member(s) is/are very accessible. 9. Staff will then provide for a preview for the Board. This showing ! will take place at Bateman Hall and will be set at the discretion of the Board. At this preview of each showcase the Board as Executive Producers can ' then make any changes prior to each shows airing. In the event there are "wholesale" chanqes causing a delay in the readiness of a showcase a previously recorded showcase will be repeated. JG/tm a:jg.r , , ' EXAMPLES AND POSSIBLE FUTURE LYNWOOD SHOWCASES LYNWOD SHOWCASE "B" Air date April 20th & April 27th Taping - April 7th - April 14th Editing - April 14 - April 20, 1990 Segment #1 Ad-Hoc Race Relations Committee Mayor Pro-Tem Paul Richards - Community * Insert #1 &#2 Health and Bulletin Board Segment #2 Ms. Lynwood Pageant - Court See Ms. Lynwood - at home, work etc. * Insert #3 &#4 Lynwood Recreation Track Meet highlights/Community Bulletin , Segment #3 Lynwood Seniors Activities * Insert #5 - Graffiti Services *Insert = 60 - 90 seconds Public Service Commercials ± LYNWOOD SHOWCASE "C" Air Date- May llth & May 18th Taping- April 23 - April 28 I Editing- Week following the taping Segment #1 I Lynwood Commission on•Women Interview Councilwoman Evelyn Wells *Insert #1 &#Z = Health/Community Bulletin Trash-Clean up Day Segment #2 Lynwood Community Services i Process for applying for 1.
