Lee for his dedication to the Youth I Commission as Chairperson during 1989 and 1990. The purpose of the letter was to thank Co�ission for their outstanding presentation at their 30th Annual Convention. Ralph Davis also reported on the invitation to the P,roject Impact Kixer that was mailed out to Co�issioners. Ralph mentioned that the Mixer is"scfieduled for June 30, 1990. REPORT ON TEEN CENTER: Leo Rodriguez reported on the daily games and activities that are held at the Teen Resource Center. Ae also reported that staff from the Wave Newspaper stopped by the center to interview some of the children that visit the center. He mentioned that Wave � Newspaper staff also took pictures. RECREATION CURRENT PROGRAM REPORT: Jim Given reported on the current and upcoming programs that are and will be offered for the youth this suffier. He mentioned [hat the Baseball teams will be having a banquet at the end of' this month. � _ i REPORT ON JOB FAIR: ` I I '-"' " Ral"h Davis re orted that the Job Fair's attendance did not --� p p go very well. Frankie Murphy mentioned that he works for St. Francis Hospital, one of the ; participants at the Job Fair, and he was notified that the main problem was , that mostly youngsters under the ages of 16 attended the Fair. I i REPORT ON EDUCATIONAL FORUM: Ralph Davis asked for this item to be tabled since he is still investigating. i � i Isadore Hall moved motion to table information on Educational Forum. Co�issioner � Flowers seconded the motion. i I COMMISSION ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS � Frankie Murphy asked for items on Bike-A-Thon and Commission's three month i probation to be tabled. � ! "' _ _._ , r-..,.-- I PAGE THREE • • Errick Lee mentioned that he would like for the Youth Co�ission to recognize the High School and Junior High School Valedictorians by honoring them vith a plaque. Co�issioner Lee expressed the Co�issions concern of removing "Recreation and Parks Department" from their title. Errick also mentioned that he would like to see more information on the Agenda (i.e. dates). MISCELLANEOUS Ralph Davis expressed concern on the attendance of Evette Medlock. Ae mentioned that he will be taking this case to Ci[y Council. Mr. Cransten from R.T.D. spoke to Co�ission about the programs that R.T.D. offers for the youth. Mr. Cransten passed out flyers and was available to answer questions. He was I also extended an invitation to make a presentation to Co�ission about the ° programs that R.T.D. offers for the youth. !, Ralph Davis reported on the three Co�issioners that were selected at the 2ast i City Council meeting to replace those Co�nissioners who have been excluded � from the Co�ission. The Co�issioners are: Betzy Salinas, Katrina Boykin, � and Kenneth Singleton. I also mentioned our "Job Preparedness° workshop to you. We would be pleased to offer this four hour workshop to any group of individuals you would be interested in assembling.
