The Gity Council oi' the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned regular session at the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, at 7:30 ~. I~. on above date. T~Zayor Snodgrass in the chair. Councilmen Skelton, Tweedy, Anderson, Kimble and Snodgrass answered the roll call. City Attorney Hess was present. The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of July 22nd, were read and approved. "TRITTET CO~tIIt~NNIGATIONS cammunica on was received from the southern California Edison Company regarding an easement for underground service to feed street lighting equipment at proposed vault at 3184 Cherokee tivenue. ~t was moved by Councilman Anderson and seconded by Councilman Tweedy that said communication be referred to Engineer Bateman for checking. A written communication was received from Elora sornson ask- ing for permission: to start the Lynwood S audio of Dancing and Dra,ma- tie Art in the Lynwood Woman's "tub. Duffy that the City is not in need of any police equipment at this time. It was moved by Councilman Skelton that same be accepted as read the second time, finally passed and published as required by law. No action was taken, but same was ordered laid on the table. Resolution loo. 725, entitled: "A RESOI,UTIORT OF THE CITY COUIITCIL OF T~ CITY OF LYN?'~TOOD, CALIFORNIA, RESCINDING RESOIzUT i0N NOS. 497 AND 526, RELATING TO THE 1~UTHORIZATION TO 3}ISBURSE FUNDS OF .SAID CITY ON DEPOSIT ~~JI'Tfi BANKSS was read. It was moved by Coun- cilman Skelton and seconded by Councilman ~"~ta.derson that said Resolu- tion No. 725 be adopted. A contract was received from Winthroath Pumps Ltd, for the purchase of a pump in the amount of X2,240.90 for Plant No. 2. It was moved by Councilman Kimble and seconded by Councilman Anderson that the Mayor be authorized to execute the contract for and in behalf of the City of Lynwood. Roll Call: Ayes: CouncilmenSkelton,Tweedy,Anderson,Kimble & Snodgrass. Tdoes : None. ,_% City Attorney Hess stated that George W. Crouch, special attorney in the matter of Acquisition and Improvement District No. 18, Lynwood (Century Boulevard) wanted to know the Council's wishes regarding the matter of the contested award of Mr. L. B. Stanton bordering on Alameda for property acquired for the widening of said Boulevard,stating that Mr. +tsnton is asking for X1,400.00 additional award over and above the appraisers appraisal for his strip 20 x 918 feet; also regarding the wishes of the Council relative to other con- tested awards. Considerable discussion was then had regarding this matter and Tr~r. Louis Swaintek addressed the Couneii regardin his award as effecting his property. Thereupon it was moved by ~ounci 1- man Anderson and seconded by Councilman Tweedy that we get in touch w.~th the property owners along Century Boulevard who are not satisfied with the amount of award as allo~rred by the Appraisers and hold a meeting July 30th to ascertain if a satisfactory settlement can be made in said matter.
