Plv,za Street, on above date at 7:30 P . ICI. I+~ayor Snodgrass in the chair. Councilmen Tweedy, .Anderson, Kimble and SnodF~rass were pre- sent. Councilman Skelton was absent. city Attorney Hess and Engineer Bateman, vdere present. The minutes of the adjourned regular me etin.m of July 29th and the adjourned regular meetin, of July 30th, were read and approved. Rayne, Special Attorney ire the matter of Acquisition and Improvement Listriet No. 25, statin,~ that rindin;s &~ Decree have been made, filed and entered in the case of City of .i~ynwood vs. Anna TY~. Cahill, et al, and requesting his attorney's fee in said matter. Thereupon it was moved by Council- man Tweedy and seconded by Councilman Anderson that the claim be al- lov~red when presented upon showing that the final judgment haw been si~;•ned by the Superior Court. Rayne, Attorney it the matter of Pacific Finance Company vs. City of Lynwood stating that the case is nov~r ready for submission. to the Court of Appeal, with bill attached for printing Brief. A report was received from Chief of Police Rice shovring the activities o=f' the tolice ~Jepartment for the month of July, 1930, shova- ing the total number of arrests as 119 a~ad total money collected for fines X4,119.00. TSoes : Toone. • ~` ' 1 an Skelton Absent . .• cone 1 m • - It was mo~-ed by Councilman nimble and seconded by Councilman Andersen.that City-:.Attorney Hess be instructed to prepare an ordin- ance for fire protection based on the suggestive fire prevention ordinance of the National Board of Fire Underwriters and to instruct Building Inspector Collins to report to the City Attorney those se~- tions of existing ordinance vrhich should be repealed in the event of the adoption of the fire ordinance. The I~~ayor instructed Building Inspector Collins to obtain dot less than three copies of the fire ordinance of the National Board of Fire Underwriters. City Attorney Hess stated thy,-t he had written the Board of Supervisors relative to the Los Angeles Flood dontrol forming a complete dam 1/4 mile south of Stewart and Grey Road where the Union Pacif.ie Railroad crosses the channel. An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of :ilynvaood amending„Ordinance No. 137 fixing salaries of officers and employees of said "ity by raising the salary of Police Judge from X50.00 per month to yp150.00 per month, was read.
