Dickson, l~ia,,-or of the Cit; of Compton, stating that t'rie Council of Compton is hesitant about granting jurisdiction to Lynwood for the ~~, ving of a portion of Fselle V`-rnon Boulev~rd,which acquisition of right of vray will be pre- sented to the Board of Supervisors in January, because of the drainage proposition vrhich is proposed to run along Se.nta Fe fa.venue. it was moved by Councilman y/illiams and seconded by Councilman lnderson triat the communication be placed on file. R~iotion was carried and so ordered. The following applications for employment were received: Joe Burch, applying for position as Police L3fficer; Pearl Spencer apply- ingfor position as Police Matron; George C. Arnol¢I, applying for posfi- tion as ~it;~ Mechanic; .R. L.~TCClellan, applying for position of ~aigh- way patrolman, and Isabelle 6V. Corning, 3262 Lynwood Woad, applying for a clerical or secretarial position;. also the report of the Countg Health Department was received. It was moved by Councilman Tweed~~ and seconded by councilman Ander- son that the applications and report be placed on file . P~iotion was car- ried and so ordered. 1~r. Tom' Mason addressed the Counc; it regarding a claim he claims due against the Cite of Lynwood in the amount of X50.00 for appearing in Court as an expert '~ditness in the matter of Acquisition and Improve- ment District No. 25 (Cedar & Oa.k Sts .) otherwise knvvrn as City of Z,,Tn- wood vs. Cahill, et al, at the request of Special Attorney Ha.yne. The ~Sayor instructed the Clerk to write T"r. B. ~. Hayne requesting from Judge Kayne the reP.son for his dise.pproval of the bill of Tom It7ason in the amount of w50.00. Mr. Geo. Sharer addressed the Council presenting them L~rith a copT- each of Collier's PTagazine requesting the Council to read a.n article therein.
