The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a regular session at the City Hall , 11331 Plaza Street, on above date at 7 :30 P. ~I. I~~.yor Snodgrass in the chair. Councilmen ~lilliams, Tweedy , Anderson and Kimble and Snodgrass answered the Roll Call. 'j'he minutes of the $dj o~.rned :v 4 regular meetings of December 30, 1930 and January 2nd, 1931 were read and approved. A Communication was revived from the Lynwoec~ Press by F. Stanley Selover, editor calling attention of the Council that on the 5th of January, 1931, his paper was established by the Superior Court as a newspaper of Gene~~s7. Circulation under section 4460 of the Political Code of the State of nalifornia, and are now in a position to publish all legal advertisements in the County of Los Angeles . The following applications were received: David Prentice, Robt. Neil Cook, Jack D. Lyons , ;~dilliam Fullmer, Harold L. Feiock, and K. ~l. McMellion, all applying for position on the Po3iee Depart~ent. A report was received from Chief Hogan showing the Police activities for the month of December; also one from Company Com- mander ~~1. B. Crumley and Fire Chief Roberts, reporting on the a~- tivities of the Fire Department for the year of 1930. An invitation was received From El Centro Fire Department inviting the Council to attend the Semi-annual meeting of the South- ern California Fire Chief's Club, to be held in Imperial Valley Saturday January 24th and 25th, 1931. There being no objections, the T~layor ordered said com- munication, invitaion, reports and applications placed on file. It was moved by Councilman Anderson and seconded by Councilman ~'~illiams that same be adopted as read the second time, finally passed and published as required by law. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilman t'~illiams, Tweedy, Anderson, Kimble and Snodgrass. Noes: Zone. The City Clerk reported to the Council that he had re- call petition on file asking for the calling of an election fcr successors of Jackson Tweedy signed by approximately 166 persons and one for Forrest Snodgrass signed by approximately 163 perso~.s and one for ]jars C. Anderson signed by approximately 160 person as members of the Council Thereupon it was: moved by Councilman Anderson and second- ed by Councilman Tweedy that the Clerk be instructed t© cheek said petitions.
