M. A~syor Snodgrass in the chair. Councilmen Williams, 'T'weedy, Anderson and 3nodgrase answered the roll call. . ®ouncilman Simble was absent. The minutes of the previous regular meeting of January 6th were read and approved. The following applications for employment in the Police ~epart- ment were received: $d. William Warier, Chas. W. Hunt, Charles Dewey Lorton and Leon Sheffield. Also the report of health serviQes rendered by the County of Los Angeles, was received. There being no objection, the Mayor ordered said applications and report fil®d. oRAL coM~UrtI CAT I ONS r. eorge arar addressed the Council regarding the Police Department, also regarding an additional polling place at the north end of the City for any other election that might be held. fir. John Feely also addressed the Council. ~hiaf of Police Hogan addressed the Council regarding the Police Department. NEW BUSINESS: i~.er presented certifications on the petitions on file in his o five demanding the election of succassor$ to Jackson Tweedy, dare C. dersan and Forrest Snodgrass, which showed that the-total number of names of qualified voters who signed said petitions; to be insufficient to warrant the ca lling of a special election. ~sfl re- ported that supplemental petitions have been filed. Thers~zpon it was moved by Councilman 1illiams and seconded by Councilman Tweedy that the Clerk be authorized to em play additional help to check the supplemental petitions on file. oll Call: Ay®$: councilmen ~lilliams, Tweedy, Anderson and Snodgrass.
