RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX AND THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET —2011 MUNICIPAL MILLING
AND PAVING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Interlocal Services Act, N.1.S.A. 40:8A -1 et seq, encourages counties and
municipalities to enter into contracts for the joint provision of services in order to effectuate
economies in government costs to reduce property taxes and provides legal authority and
procedures to effectuate such agreements; and
WHEREAS, the County of Middlesex (the "County') and the Borough of Carteret (the
"Borough ") are desirous of entering Into such an Interlocal Services Agreement providing for
the milling and resurfacing of various streets within the Borough in conjunction with the 2011
Municipal Milling and Paving Program; and
WHEREAS, this agreement will effectuate economy by coordinating the milling and resurfacing
of various Borough streets with the 2011 Municipal Milling and Paving Program; and
WHEREAS, In accord with N.J.S.A. 40:8A -4, said proposed contract is available and open to
public Inspection at the Office of the Municipal Clerk, Carteret Municipal Building, 61 Cooke
Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret as
follows:
I. That the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the proposed
revised Interlocal Services Agreement with the County of Middlesex providing for
the milling and resurfacing of various Borough streets as detailed in said Agreement
and In a form acceptable to the Borough Attorney.
2. That a certified copy of this Resolution with original signatures and the Borough
Seal, along with three executed copies of the aforementioned Interlocal Services
Agreement be forwarded to David R. Campion, Director of Public Works, for
processing.
Adopted this 2 " day of June, 2011 and
certified as a true copy of the original on
June 3, 2011.
