The City Council of the City of Lynvrood met in an adjourned re-
gular session at the Citg Hall on above date at '7::30 P. Ttii.
Mayor Snodgrass in the chair.
Councilrr~en Silliams, Tweedy, Anderson, Decker and Snodgrass
answered the roll call.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting of March 31st, 1931
were read and approved.
"dRITTEN COMMUNICATIOl`TS
communication was received from Rev. 0. M. Burkhart requesting
permission to erect a tent at East Louise and Long Beach. Boulevard, south-
east corner for the purpose of conducting church services and Sunday School.
under the auspices of Redeemer Lutheran Church of South Gate. It was moved
by Councilman Tweedy and seconded by Councilman 1illiams that temporary
permit be granted.

Noes: None.
A communication was received from Mr. P. H. Kean requesting per-
mission to practise psychology. and Palmistry at 11102 L. B. Blvd. with
letter from Chief of Police of San Diego attached. It was moved by Council-
man Anderson that permission be granted to operate, which motion was with-
drawn after some discussion. ta'Vhereupon it was moved by Councilman Williams
and seconded by Councilman Anderson .that the City Attorney be instructed
to prepare an ordinance afi'ecting palmistry or fortune telling within the
City of Lynwood.

A report was received signed by Chief of Police Bennett showing
the activities of the Police Department for the month of March, T931; also
the report of health services rendered by the County of Los Angeles was
received. "There being no objections, the Mayor ordered said reports placed
on file.

oo win addressed the Council requesting that Councilman
Williams be appointed as a committee. to employ the men to be used in the
construction of the pipe line by the Southern Fuel Company.
Mr. A. B. Gray addressed .the Council regarding the new contem-
plated pump in the Century Square district.
Mrs. D. S~,elzer addressed the Council requesting a report on
the welfare Department work.
REPORT OF SPECIAL COMTiiITTEES
ouncilman ecTcer a dressed the Council reporting on the contract
for gasoline by Standard Oil Company, stating that the maximum. price of
122 per gallon as contained in original contract presented at the meeting
of the Council on T~Zarch 31st is correct, recommending to the Council that
the City enter into a contract with the Standard Oil Company to furnish
gasoline at said maximum price of 12~~ per ~ llon, the City to get advantage
of any tank wagon drop, on the basis of 15000 gallons for one year, and made
a motion to that effect and that the Pv~ayor be authorized to sign said con-
tract for and in behalf o.f the City of Lynwood, which was duly seconded by
Councilman Anderson.

for the second reading. It was moved by Councilman Williams and seconded
by Councilman Tweedy that said Ordinance be adopted as read the second time,
finally passed and published as required by law.

same committee act to investigate said application.
