The City Council of the City of LVn~:vood met in an adjourned regular session at: the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on a?_~o-.re date at 7:30 P. T~?. In tr_e absence of the T;'ayor, the meeti~,g eras called to order by the .,City Clerk and he read a telegrarr~ from rTayor Snodgrass from Tewman, Cal- ifornia, to the effect that he is detained at ITe~vman on account of wife's illness, congratulating the nevi Council, vtishing them best wishes for a peaceful future. Councilmen ~'Villi.=~ms, Anderson a.nd Decker ans~^~ered tl_e roll call. Councilmen Tweed}T and Snod~,;rass .=rere absent. The Clerk stated that a motion-would be in order for the election of a temporary Chairman. ~VYlereupon it Lvas moved b yT Councilman Anderson and seconded btir Councilman i~illiams that Couneilm~n Decker be appointed tempor- ary Chairman. Thereupon it eras moved bar Councilan Grayson and seconded by Council- man ~~i7_liams that Councilman Decker be elected Chairman of the Council and Ivlayor or the City of Lynirrood. Councilman Decker addressed the Couxlcil expressing his appreciation, for extending him the g'':'eat honor of serving as T~~ayor, requesting the support of the members of the Council, stating that he wished the business transacted in a 'ousiness l?~e fashion; also addressed the av_dience stating that he wished, the support of eac~~. citizen of Lynwood; that he will insist that one person addresses the Council at a time and that they address the chair bey°ore doing so; also requesting that there be no hand clapping or sl~.uffling of feet dur- ing the sessions of the Council, remembering at all times treat triis is a meeting o.f tie Council to transact City business. :%~.yor Decker stated t~_at it tivill be necessary to amend the Resolu- tion naming Councilmen as Co~~timissioners and providing for their duties.
