" " CITY OF TEMPLE CITY PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION Meeting of September 16, 1981 The regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairman Adams at 7:30 p.m. on Wed- nesday, September 16, 1981 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 5938 N. Kauffman Avenue, Temple City, CA. 2. Chairman Adams led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 3. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES ABSENT: Commissioners Burlingame, Cas- well, Crump, Shaw and Adams None ALSO PRESENT: Victor B. Kobett, Director Parks & Recreation Dept. It was moved by Commissioner Caswell, seconded by Commissioner Crump and unanimously carried that the minutes of the regular meeting of August 19, be approved as mailed. OLD BUSINESS 5. TEMPLE CITY TENNIS CLUB - Tennis Court Improvements This matter was continued from the meeting of August 19, awaiting a staff report. Director Kobett reviewed the various proposed improvements with staff recommendations. Chairman recognized Russ Watson, President of the Temple City Tennis Club, 4915 N. Heleo who also reviewed the pro- posed tennis court improvements. After discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Caswell, seconded by Commissioner Crump that the matter be tabled to an adjourned meeting to be held at Live Oak Park in order to enable all Commissioners to discuss the proposed improvements while actually viewing the tennis courts. Motion unanimously carried. NEW BUSINESS 6. There was none. COMMUNICATIONS 7. LOS ANGELES COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT - Request for use of Live Oak Park Director Kobett stated that a request had been received from the Los Angeles County Health Department, Alhambra Health Center, to conduct a Senior Citizens Flu Clinic at Live Oak Park, Tuesday, October 20, 1981 from 9:30 to 12:30 p.m. and one -half hour for cleanup. It was moved by Commissioner Burlingame, seconded by Commis- sioner Crump and unanimously carried that the request be approved. " " Parks and Recreation. Commission -2- September 16, 1981 TIME FOR THOSE IN THE AUDIENCE WHO WISH TO SPEAK 8. No one came forth. DIRECTOR'S REPORT 9. Commission reviewed the Director's Report which gave back- ground information on the proposed tennis court improve- ments, and reported on the Summer Playground Activities. Also, that the Fall afterschool program would begin the week of September 28. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS 10. Commissioner Burlingame had nothing. Commissioners Caswell, Crump, Shaw and Adams mentioned highlights of their vacation trips and of the parks they had seen and visited. ADJOURNMENT 11. " It was moved by Commissioner Shaw, seconded by Commissioner 40 Crump and unanimously carried that the meeting be adjourned to adjourned meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Multi - Purpose Room of Live Oak Park, 10144 Bogue Street, Temple City on September 22, 1981.
