The City Council. of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned regular session at the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date apt 8 P.M. Mayor Snyder in the chair. Councilmen Williams, Davies, Schouten and Snyder answered the roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of July 19th were read and approved; also the minutes of the special meeting of July 21st were read and approved. Mayor Snyder stated that the meeting was called for the pur- pose of passing a resolution for the calling of a special election, how- ever that Mr.Victor Limber was present and had a proposition he wished to present to the Council and that he will be heard. Thereupon Mr.Victor Limber addressed the Council to the of feet that he is addressing the Council in behalf of the Lynwood Exchange Club who are wishing to further a civic duty in sponsoring a meeting of all candidates who are seeking office in the County and State which will be absolutely-non-partisan. Each Candidate regardless of his party affil- iation will be notified, and each candidate will be given equal time to speak. It is the opinion of the committee of the E~:change Club that the. most satisfactory plane to hold such a meeting would be from the steps of~ the` City Hall; therefore requesting permission to use the front steps and street, where seats `~~ill be placed for said meeting for the date of August 15th, at 7:00 P.M. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Davies and seconded by ~%ouncilman Schouten that permission be granted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Williams, Davies, Schouten and Snyder. Noes: None. Thereupon Mr.Limber thanked the Council for permission. - The following demands were presented: WATER FUND: STREET I~'H'ROVEMENT: H.A.Kanfman 64.32 Payro 1 Account 162.00 Pay roll Account 71.50 It was moved by Councilman Davies and seconded by Councilman Schouten that the demands be allowed and warrants be drawn on the City Treasurer for said various amounts. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Williams, Davies, Schouten and Snyder. Noes: None. it was moved by Councilman Williams and seconded py C©uncilma~ Davies that the date for the special election be set as September 2nd, 1932. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Williams, Davies, Schouten and Snyder. Noes: None. RESOLUTION N0.812, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE .CITY OF LYNWOOD,CALIFORNIA,CALLING A SPECIAL ~~I[TNICIPAL ELECTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE+; PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORI`ZIA", was, read. It was moved by Councilman Davies and seconded by Councilman Schouten that said RESOLUTION N0.812 be adopted. Roll Call: .Ayes: Councilmen 'Nilliams, Davies, Schouten and Snyder. Noes: None. It was moved by Councilman Davies and seconded by Councilman Schouten that the meeting adjourn to August 2nd,1932, at 7:30 P. M. Councilman Williams addressed the Council requesting a hear- -ing regarding the Police Depar~ment at next Council meeting. No action was taken.
