T~t~. Tvayor Schouten in the chair. Councilmen Davies, Gillett, Snyeter and. Schouten ans6^rered the roll call. Councilman ':IilJ..iams was absent. The minutes of the previous regular meeting of October 18th were read and approved. tiVRITTFN CONiPrUNICATIONS : A communication ~nras received from ~"~r. H. C. Councilman Snyder addressed the Council reporting on a recent meeting of the Lyn~n~ood Emergency Relief bond stating; that they also recom- mended retaining the 25~ water discount charge, and that y~200.00 of the money raised therefrom be appropriated to the Relief Fund and the balance of ~200.C0 be applied on the-balance due the General Fund for weed. clean- ing. Thereupon it was moved by Co~.arrcilman (sillett and seconded by Courici.lman Snyder that all proceedings taken heretofore relative to the repealing of the ordinance collecting 2,5~! per water cons~.zmer for relief purposes, be abandoned. A communication was received from Fire Chief Dunlap requesting that an incinerator ordinance be draftedand adopted by the Council to take care of burning of fires in she rear of the business section. There be- ing no objection, the Ttii~~or referred the matter to tie City Attorney and Fire Chief to draft ~~ suitable ord~~lance. A re:~ort on the recent convention held at San Diego of .lire Chiefs arras received from lire Chief Dunlap; also report of activities of :3uildinb Department and ,i cense Co11_ector; fire 1epartment, Court Depart- ment, Police Department for month of October, and health reports ti^rere re- ceived. There being no objection, the T,i~~yor ordered same filed. NE'w"J BUS.I NESS he ayor instructed Chief of y'olz.ce '1'oohey to investigate the matter of request for 14 days' pay in lieu of vacation m~~de by Ex-Offi- cer Gardner. The City Clerk stated that at the last meeting of the Council they failed to specify the salaries of the new police officers. Councilman Snyder addressed tie Council statin that he believes there are a lot of men who would be willing to work for y~75.00 per month, therefore made a motion that the salaries of ~'oli~ee Officers .lloyd Davis, 1-iu"h ~~illiams and George Felix be fixed at ti~75.00 per month, which was duly seconded by Councilman Da~.ries, and upon roll call showed the follow- ing result. Felix, ~~illiams and Davis, and that warrants be drawn on the City Treas- urer for said various amounts, Roll Call: Kyes: Councilmen navies, Gillett, Snyder and Schouten. Noes: None. Absent; Councilman Williams. It was moved by Councilman Gillett that we set aside dency from the General Fund X400.00 to be used for filling 250 needy families in Lynwood for Th~ksgiving day.
