COMMITTEE MEETING —Began at 5:30 p.m.
CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Committee members Dave Peugh, Judy Drake, Susan Farber, Karla Eitel, Claire
Remsberg, Craig Vroom, and Dallas Young were present. Also, in attendance was Delta
James, Economic Development Planner.
MINUTES APPROVAL
• December 23, 2019 [ACTION ITEM]
Dave moved, Judy seconded, a motion to approve the December 23, 2019 minutes
without revision. All members voted"aye"and the motion passed.
PUBLIC ART PROJECTS
• Downtown
• Outreach ideas: The committee brainstormed outreach ideas for the
contracted public artists to consider. These suggestions included: street party
with fires or partnership with Crusty's, mix of face to face events and online
(i.e. Pintrist board), Library comment board, inspiration board, facilitated
vision sessions, online survey with checklists of how do you want to use this
space, guiding questions across different venues, collection of info in different
ways (written, verbal, digital, etc.), reflect the purpose of 2"d Street and
intersection with Lenora St., input from possible users of street, demonstrate
in a temporary way to inform the permanent artwork, small attempts at space
making to inform final artwork, generate public enthusiasm.
• Public Art Plan: RFP has been issued to four invited professionals. Deadline is
Friday prior to the next meeting. Committee will review submittals at next meeting.
• Urban Renewal Area project request: no decisions made yet.
FUNDING
• Budget overview: no changes.
• ICA QuickFunds grant request: Staff reported that this grant was awarded in the
amount of$1100.
• US Bank grant request: grant application has been submitted. US Bank asked for
more information, but no decision has been made.
OTHER
• Sue McGrew visit: Craig and Delta visited with sand and snow sculptor Sue McGrew
who is in McCall now doing a snow sculpture for Best Western Hotel. She is excited
to do something in McCall like youth sand sculping workshop or contest. She will
send a proposal to give a sense of cost then funding from outside sources.
• Claire Remsber reported that the Idaho Botanical Gardens is embracing temporary
art which launches March 14.

• Monday, February 24, 2020, 5:30 pm in Legion Hall.
