Fallon making app- lication for license to condla.ct, under proper regulation, a liquor dis- pensary, and to open, operate and conduct within the business area of the City o' Lynwood, a store for sale, et ~., o.f_ liquors, when it becomes legally possible to do so. Thereupon i t tivas moved by Council- man Snyder and seconded by Councilman Davies that the Cty C1Prlc be in- structed to notify 1Vir. ness that the Council of the City of Itiyn~^rood have no objection to his appearing in a court action to test ire validity of the advertising ordinance. A comr.~unication was received from LeRoy F. iiamiTton offering to re-wand all hardwood floors in the City Hall for the sum of X75.00., It was moved by Councilman ~"Jilliams that the contract be let to Mr. Ham- ilton, the ~:vork to be approved b~~ ~3uilding Inspector Collins, tivhi_ch. moti on vras `^~*i.tr.~ra~m after some discussion, and no forther action was taken. other than the communication was ordered.f"...led. ti communication vras received ~t'rom ~~~ire Chief Dunlap reporting on the matter of dis~ributing 'Thanksgiving Baskets for needy, reporting that 215 basekets were distributed tivitY~. an expenditure of ~>302.70, there- fore, `97.30 balance remaings of the ~400.OO~appropriatior, recommending that the unused portion be used by the Relief Committee for the purpose of purchasing fresh meats, etc., f ~r use of tr.e unemployed Lynwood '~~forkers for consideration of their aid in supplying the vegetables that were put in the baskets. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Davies and seconded b;~r Councilman V'Jilliams teat said balance of y~97.30 be spent by the Lynwood Emergency Relief Committee where they see fit. Traeger Sheriff of Los Angeles County wherein the County of Los Angeles propose to contract with the City of LT,,mtivood for the incarceration of pri - soners i:n t;he County Jail for y~1.00 per day f.or each prisoner. No action was taken other than the matter was ordered 1«id over to the next Cour,.cil meeting for further consideration. A communication was received from Cit~T Treasurer Reed recommend- ingthat the sum of X1,650.00 be loomed from the General Fund for payment cf City Hall 1~ond requirements inasmuch. as same is a general obligation.
