copy of resolution attached sug"esting the adoption of a sirn.i~l_ar resolu-
tion b;r the Council of Lynwood, -~~r?~ereb;~ 12~ of the gasoline tax money
collected. by t~e State t~'lould accrue to tY'~e Counties and 3~,4ths of l~' of
said amount to be allotted to tee municipalities. It was moved by Coun-
cilman ~'lilliams that eve take out a memt_~ership 3_n the Los ~~ngeles County
I_"ear~;ue of Cali~'orni a r."~~nicinal~.ti es, Councilmen's section. ~i''her'e being

Attorney to report on same at the next meeting, and no further actian was

A communication was received fr°om Chief of Police Toohey stating
that the Council replealed Ordinance No. 17 relative to possession, man-
ufacture and sale of intoxicating liquor when Orcin~~nce ?~To. lu6 ~,,ras a-
__ d.apted as they used. to book them under t' e d"Jr;_g~.t Act, stating triat there-
fore the C'_ty nozv ha~re no ordinance regulating same. `T'here being no ob-
jection, the matter yeas referred to the City Attorney for investigatian
and. to draft suitable ord~ nance, if found ti~at the present ordinance
does not cover ';,he matter.

T~1Ir. E. J. Krueger addressed the Council pratesting against the
rumor that seems to be prevalent that their organization, t}:~e Lynwood. Co-
operative Unemployment Associatian, Unit hTo. 4, are in paliti.ca, stating
that certain individuals are seeking to embroil their organization in
politics, stating fort'^er that thee., are not in politics, ~n~i that they
are not interested in tivho is sitting on the Council, but are much more
interested ire feeding the hungry.

not put out in time for churcri attendants on Sunday during the rain; also

Chief of Police ~l'oohey reported that offer investigation it was
found that the profession of physo therapy is a legitimate prfession i.f.
properly conducted. There being no objection, the communication was ar-
dered filed.
Chief of Police Toohey reported relative to the matter of enter-
ing into a contract wi th the County for the incarceration of L~yntvood pri-
sar,ers ir_ the County Jail, recommending; that contract be executed. Tt~.E,re-
upon it was moved by Counci lman ''illiams and seconded by Counci lman Snyder
that the T,~ayor be authorizec4 to execute said contract for and in behalf of
the City of Lyn~•vood.
