M. Mayor pro tempore Snyder in the chair. Councilr~ien L<.xvies, lYright, daettireiler, Childs and Snyder answered. the roll call. It tivas moved by Councilman Davies and seconded by Councilman Wright that the minutes of the previous regular meeting of February 7th., 1933, be approved as written. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Davies, Wright, Daettiveiler, Childs and Snyder. Noes: None. A communication was received from the Mul~'ord Garage making ap- plication to do the City repairing on equipment, guaranteeing their work ~I and stating that they are in a position to give first-class work. It was moved by Councilman Davies and seconded by Councilman Childs that the mat- ter be laid over for further consideration. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Davies, bUright, Daetweiler, Childs and Snyder. hoes: bone. A communication was received from r~7r. R. A. Burton, accompanied by endorsements from the Unemployed Cooperative Relief Association, unit No. 4, Lyn~voodfs Association for Unemployment Relief, Lynwood Branch of the Socialist Party, Lynwood Sewing Club, Holy Name Society and i,ynwood Good Will Club, urging the Council to procure loan from the Reconstruc- tion Finance Corporation. for the purpose of making necessary improvements to the h~Zunici pal .'Dater system, for ei ~;ht reasons as set forth in their endorsements. Smme discussion thereon was had and it was brought out that a bond election e~ould not be necessary, but the Reconstruction Finance Corporation requires the retirement of any amount loaned to apply against the water revenues directly. `1'nere being no objection, the Mayor ordered the City ~xgineer tomake a report on the information he has received from the Reconstruction Finance Corporation relative to said matter for consi- deration of the Council at their next meeting. A communication was received from Mayor Alfred B. Fry, of Cor- onado requesting the Council to endorse Assembly Bill No. 1563 which pro- poses to provide that a tax shall be levied Qn all gasoline sold. within the State for marine, water craft, yachts, motor boats, etc., the amount of revenue received by this method to be used solely for the purpose of construction and maintenance of motor boat channels, turning basins, an- chorages and harbors. There being no objection, the Mayor ordered the com- munication filed until the next meeting of the Council when it will be con- sidered further. A communication was received from City treasurer Reed stating that he is returning to the General Fund from the Bond Redemption Fund the sum of1175.00, recommending the following loans be made from the General Fund to the following districts, which will make it passible to retire a portion of the matured bonds outstanding in the districts affected: Series G ~~ 50.00 K 150.00 ~r l1 150.00 Total 350.00 Trereizpon it was moved by Councilman Childs and seconded by Coun- cilman Wright that the transfer be made as recommended by City Treasurer Reed. A report of activities ~f the ~ ire Department for the month of October, 1932 and yearly report for year 1932 was received; also health reports for weeks ending February 4th and February 11th. REPORT OF SP a~CIAL CUP.2PIIITEES ~uncilman rig t re orted for the committee consisting of Council men Davies, Snyder and Y~imself to investigate the matter of gasoline. 4ouncilman ~'Vright stated that he has had 5 different brands of gasoline tested and while he did not find very much difference in the brands, he found that the Petrol Gasoline was Iow on the "N" point. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Childs and seconded by Coun- cilman Daetweiler that the TvIayor be authorized to execute a contract with the Petrol Corporation to furnish gasoline at 11-~~~-,~ per gallon maximum price, to test as good or better as the gasoline they are furnishing the City of Los Angeles, covering the remaining months of the fiscal year 1932-33.
