L~ The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a regular session at the City Hall, 1133I Plaza Street, on above date, at 7:30 P.M. Mayor Davies in the chair. Councilmen Wright, Daetweiler, Childs and Davies answered the roll call. Councilman Snyder was absent. It was moved by Councilman Childs and seconded by Councilman Wright that the minutes of the previous adjourned regular meeting of Feb- ruary 28th, 1933 be approved as written. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Wright, Daetweiler, Childs and Davies. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Synder. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS: A communication was received from the Los Angeles County League of Municipalities inviting the Council to attend their next meeting to be held in the City of Alhambra, on Thursday March 16th, dinner a,t 6:30 P.M.; also announcing a meeting of the League to be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, March 9th, in room 707 State Building first and Spring Streets, Los Angeles, when discussion will be had relative to the question of telephone rates and service in the Metropolitan area. There being no objection, the Mayor appointed City Treasurer Reed and City Attorney Hub~ard to attend said meeting. The health report for the month of January, 1933 and report for week ending February 25th, 1933, were received. There being no objection, the Mayor ordered the reports filed. REPORTS OF SPECIAL COM~~ITTEES: City Treasurer Reed reported on the condition of City funds durin€ the bank holiday, stating that same are in excellent condition, and that we • have .more than the legal reserve required to protect funds on deposit. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: Mr. A. B. Gray addressed the Council suggesting the installation c a red light at the intersection of Imperial Highway and California, Streets for purpose of averting accidents during foggy nights, stating that ane al- most happened the other evening. There being no objection, the Mayor re- ferred the matter to the Chief of Police for his report at the next meeting. It was moved bar Councilman Childs and seconded by Councilman Aright that the City Attorney's salary be increased X175.00 per month until further notice. City Treasurer Reed stated that all staple goods that are furnished should be disbursed to Lynwood. residents only as it is not within the City's po«er to expend money for indigents outside its City limits. Mr. James, representing the Lynwood Cooperative Unemployment Relief, addressed the Council assuring them that all goods that would be, a.nd is being disbursed by their organization for which goods the Lynwood Relief Fund is paying is given to Lynwood residents, and that in the fut- ure they will see to it that t'ne sane practice is adhered to, as they have a complete record of addresses of persons assisted. Thereupon it wa.s moved by Councilman Childs and. seconded by Councilman Daetweiler that the City Clerk be instructed to communicate with the Lynwood Emergency Relief Fund requesting them, to cooperate with the Lynwood Cooperative Unemployment Relief is~ the matter of purchasing necessary staple food goods, when money is available.
