W H E RE A S , on June 30, 2020, the Village of Key Biscayne ("Village") adopted Resolution No. 2020-42, approving an agreement with KCI Technologies, Inc. ("Consultant") for professional engineering services relating to construction, engineering, and inspection services (the "Services") for the Safe Routes to School Key Biscayne K-8 Center Project ("Project"); and WHEREAS, the Consultant has requested a change order to the Project schedule, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" ("Change Order"), due to the need for additional work, field design changes, modifications, and corrections to construct the Project; and WHEREAS, no sidewalk will be constructed at Harbor Drive Park as part of the Project; and WHEREA~, Village staff has reviewed the Consultant's request for the Change Order and recommends approval; and WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and welfare of the residents of the Village. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Recitals. That each of the above-stated recitals are hereby adopted, confirmed, and incorporated herein. Section 3. Authorization. That the Village Manager is hereby authorized to execute the Change Order with the Consultant in an amount not to exceed $49,752.26. Section 4. adoption hereof. Effective Date.
