NI. Manor Davies in the chat r. Councilmen Snyder, Childs, '"!right, Daetweiler and Davies answered the roll. Call. It arras moved. ~~r "ouncilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Childs that the minutes of the previous adjourned regular meeting of August 29th, 1933 be approved as writi:en. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Snyder, V'Jright, Daet~veiler, Uhilds and Davies. Noes : ivone. WRITTEN CONi1ti~UNICaiIONS: A communication was received from Attorney Glen E. Huntsberger, making demand in behalf of one Mrs. Mary M. Keith, for the sum of 10,000- .00 for alleged damages to Lot 8, Black 1, Belle Vernon Acres and Lots 8 and 9, Modjeska Acres loing partly in the City of Lynwood and partly in the City of Compton, on account of dumping debris on said Lots by permis- sion of the City of Lynwood and Compton and thereby ruining the possibi- lities of removing the peat deposited thereon; also demanding an alterna- tive of removing the debris vrith out damaging the Aeat deposit. There be- ing no objection, the Nlayor referred. the matter to City Attorney Hubbard for investigation ;-end report. Reports of activities of Police Department, City Court and Health Department for month of August tiuere received. There being no ob- jection, the Nlayor ordered same filed. ORAL COMi~IUNICATI ONS Mr. J. ':-. enny addressed the Council requesting information relative to what the Council. have, or are going to do, about his request for refund of alleged overpayment of water rent on his residences. Pllayor Davies informed Mr. Denny that the matter had been referred to Water Sup- erintendent Bateman but teat he has rot as ,yet submitted his report on th.e matter as to 'pis fi_ndin~s. Noes: None. NEB"d BUSINESS comply nt was received relative to weeds growing over the sidewalks on Peach Street and Sanborn Avenue and requesting their re- moval. There being no objection, the Nlayor referred the matter to Street Superintendent Bateman for investigation and action. It was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Wright that the public liability and property damage, and fire and theft insurance which expires on September 14th, 1933,. covering all automotive equipment, be awarded to Insurance Agents Claude Reber, G. Wood, F. Row- lee, Al Young and. H. E. Zeiser, to be written in a conference company, said agents to share alike in premium earnings, said insurance to run for a one year period. Roll. Mayor Davies invited the Council to attend the installation of officers of the American T~egi.an Auxiliary to be held this evening, in be- half of said organization. Councilman Childs addressed the Council expressing his apprecia- tion for the floral offering contributed by the City Council for the fun- eral service of his father . Councilman Snyder addressed the Council of- fering condolence to Councilman Childs because of the demis e of his father . It was moved by Councilman Wright and seconded by Councilman Sny- der that the meeting adjourn to September 19th, 1933, at 7:30 P. M.
