The City Council of the City of Lyn~,vood met in an adjourned re- gular session, at the City Hall, 113:1 Plaza Ctreet,on above date, at 7:3G P.M. Mayor Davies in the cr~air. It was moved b;;r Councilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Wright treat the minutes of the previous regular meeting of October 17th, 1933 be approved as written. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Snyder, odright, Childs and Davies. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Daetweiler. v"dRITTF_.h' COMMUNICATIONS: communication was received from N,r. C. C. Jackson, Secretary of th~Boardof Trustees of Lynwood Schools, requesting that abridge b~e furnished during the rainy season in the vicinity of the Theodore Roose- velt School. There being no objection, the Mayor referred the matter to Engineer Bateman for action and report. A communication was receifed from the Unemployed Cooperative Re- lief Association, Unit No. 4, by R. Phillips, Manager, to the effect that they wrish to confirm their conversation of Mayor Davies that they are ready to supply sufficient labor, either common or skilled, at current prices, for the purpose of offsetting the appropriations made by the City for~'re- lief of the unemplc~ed and needy families. There being objection, the Ma- ~; or ordered the communicate or. filed. A communication was received from Fire Chief Dunlap to the effect that lvTight Callman Jess Trent has resigned and recommending that same be accepted with chances for re-appointment and re-employmentin the event he so desires. Sam Brown as Night Callman to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Nor. Jess Trent. It was moved by Councilman Wright and seconded by Councilman `~nyder that said recommendati on of Fire Department at a salary of X15.00 per month. Roll Call Noes: None. Ayes: Councilmen Snyder, ~"bight, Childs ammd Davies. Absent: Councilm~ Daetweiler. A communication was received fromFire Chief Dunlap recommending the purchase of 200 feet of chemical hose at 40~L per foot to replace the old hose worn out; also recommending the purchase of a reel to carry the hose on, which can be had for approximately 50.00. It was ma~ed by Coucil- man Childs and seconded by Councilman 'Nright that the Mayor appoint a com- mittee to investigate the request and report back to the Council at their next meeting. A communication wa.s received from Mr. John H. CMG for male dogs and ti~4.00 for female dogs, however, that the Council are considering an amendment to the Ordinance and wild take her protest into consideration at that time. `t'hereupon it was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded. by Coun- cilman GVright that the matter be taken under advisement.
