The City Council of the City of Lynt»ood met in an adjourned re-
gular session at the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date, at 7:30
P. I~.
Mayor Davies in the chair.
Councilmen V'~right, Childs ~-nd Davies ans~.vered the roll call.
Councilmen Snyder and Daetweiler ,sere absent.

A communication was received from the Unemployed Cooperative Re-
lief Association, requesting that the City either plow a one-half acre tract
of lam: that they have secured for the purpose of gardening, or loan them
the equipment, and requesting further that the City furnish water for the
garden. It ~P~as moved by Co~zncilman Childs and seconded by Councilman Wright
that the recuest be granted. and. same be referred to City Engineer Bateman
for action.

A communication vas received from r,;r. ~I. C. Sommer of the Com-
mercial 'v'~elding Company, making application for permit to build a brewery
on his property locaed on Drury Lane, anticipating an expenditure of ap-
proximately y~25,000.0U for the enterprise. It was moved by Councilman
Childs and seconded by Councilman 'rdright that the ~3uil~~ing Inspector be
directed to issue buil~in~ rpcrmit therefor upon application for same.

A communication was received from the Los Angeles County League
of Municipalities rel=~tive to dues for membership, vdhen the year commences,
etc. Z'her e being no ob jection, the rr7ayor ordered the matter laid over
until the rest of the Council are present.
A communication was received from the 1915 Imperovement Bond Act
Committee, which City Attorne-y Hub^ard gave a concise narrative of, to the
effect that Messrs . I:itchell, James r . , and Leon T. David were employed
as special counsel to represent the Cities in endeavoring to procure a re-
hearing and th?t a committee eras appointed for the purpose of indicating
the fees to be charged for a~~id T,•rork, and that each City su'oscribed ~5C'.00
to defray expenses for said action.
Report of activities of Police Department for_ month of October
vas received; also health report. There bein no o'^ jection, the ~~~ayor or-
dered said reports filed.

It was moved by Councilman 'I~ri~ht and seconded by Councilman
Chips that Mr. H. Leonard Kaufman be appointee Ci ty ~'olice Judge of the
City of Lynwood.
It; was moved by Councilman `udright and seconded 'py Councilman
Childs that the office of City Police Judge be :~eclared vacant; also that
the office of Court Clerk be declared vacant and that &irs. Corning contin-
ue as Assistant Water Clerk at a salary of40.00 per month for half day
service, and that Chief of Police Bailey be instructed to appoint one of
his Police Officers as Court Clerk without a~!ditional compensation therefor
their seats at the Council table.
