M. Mayor Davies in tree chair. Councilmen Wright, Childs and Davies answered the roll call. Councilmen Snyder and Daet~veiler were absent. Crumley,.Adjutant, in reply to letter sent them relative to application for permit to .Council fromone Earle W. Odell Post No. 1732, and if the Legion of Lynwood are favorable to the granting of said permit, stating that it is the wish of Lynwood Post No. 85, American Le- ~ion that previous ruling regulating the sale of fire works prevail. Mr. Larry Windle addressed the Council relative to the matter stating that the Legion went on record opposing any permit being granted to outside organizations to sell fire works during the 4th of July season. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Childs and seconded by Councilman Wright that the Council deny permit to sell. fire works to the Ladies Auxiliary to tYie Earle W. Odell Post No. 1732 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Ro11Ca11: Ayes: Councilmen :'Uright, Childs and Davies.. Noes: Nona, Absent: Councilmen Snyder and Daetweiler. It was moved by Councilman Childs and seconded by Councilman Wright that no temporary permit be granted to any outside person or or- ganization to sell fire works during the 4th of July period. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen VVr3.ght, Childs and Davies. Noes : T?one. Absent : Councilmen Snyder and Daet~~eiler. A communication was received from tt~e Cal ifornia 14~u.nicipal Utilities Association giving result of data received from various Cities on Municipal Utilities in California. `t'here being no objection, the Ma- yor ordered same filed. the health report for week ending March 3rd was received and ordered filed. NEW BUSINESS: he following demands were presented: GENERAL FUND: WATER DEPAR^MENT: Southern California as Co. ~ 27.57 Payroll Account 342.20 Industrial Ptg. ~~ Sta. Co. 11.33 STREET DEPARTIv~ENT: Water Department 52.00 Payro~.~ ccount 340.00 Payroll Account 1,447.50 A. Warner 45.00 It was moved by Councilman Wright and seconded by Councilman Childs that the demands be allowed and warrants be drawn on the City Treasurer for said various amounts. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen 1"Tright, Childs and Davies. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Snyder and Daetweiler. It was moved by Councilman Childs and seconded by Councilman Wright that 2,500.00 be set aside .from the Water Fund to be used for pur- chase of materials and labor to help the unemployed, on projects to be approved by the Council, and that the r.~ayor be authorized to appoint a committee of three to act with him and Engineer Bateman in the prosecution of the proposed work.
