Mayor Davies in the chair. Councilmen Snyder, Wright, Childs and Davies answered the roll call. Councilman Daetweiler was absent. It was moved by Councilman 1~lright and seconded by Councilman Snyde: that the minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of March 13th, 1934 be approved as written. Absent: Councilman Daetweiler. bdRITTEN COI`diMUNICATIUN'S : common ca on was received from the Kellow-Brown Company commend ing the efficient manner in which the Lynwood Fire and Police Departments handled the fire at the Lynwood Bowling Alley and expressing their apprecia- tion. It was moved by Councilman Childs and seconded by Councilman Snyder that the original copy of said communication be turned over to the Chief of the Fire Department. Roll Call: ~-yes : Councilmen Snyder,` Wright, Childs and i3avies. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Daetweiler. A petition was received signed by Mr. H. N. `S~tra.nd and 9 other pro perty owners residing in the Carson Tract, petitioning the Council that Stockton Drive, Benwell Drive and Carson Drive, between Century Boulevard and Imperial Highway be oiled, stating that the dust is very bad, and that they are wiping to deed the necessary right of way. There being no ob~ec- tion, the Mayor referred the communication and petition to Engineer Bateman for investingation and report at the next regular meeting of the Council. A communication was also received from F. W. Heathcote, Receiver of the Wal- nut Park National Bank stating that they are also agreeable to the prayer of the petitioners. Report of the City Court for the month of February, was received; also health report for week ending March 10th, 1934. There being no ob~ec- tion, the Mayor ordered said reports filed. Mayor Davies reported relative to the ~p2,500.00 allocation from r. the Water fund, to the effect that the committee met and have concluded to lay a 12 inch water pipe line from Plant No. 3 on Elizabeth Street to Plant No. 1 on California Street, which is in conformance with Water Superinten- dent Bateman's former plan, all to be installed by local labor to work 6 hours a day ,no man to work more than 2 days a week, stating that the work will be commenced on or about ~'ridav and to continue until its completion. Law be and he is hereby appointed as a member of the Civil Service hoard without compensation therefor, his term to expire on December 31st, 1935. Chrisman be and he is hereby appointed as a member of the Civil Service Hoard without compensation therefor, his term to expire on December 31st, 193'7. Roll Call Ayes: Councilmen Snyder, Wright, Childs and Davies. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Daetweiler. It was moved by Councilman Childs and seconded by Councilman Wright that Mr. Frank Sanders oe °and he is heresy appointed as a member of the Civil Service Loard wit~~out compensation therefor, his term to expire December 31st, 1939. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Snyder, 'fright, Childs and Davies. Noes :None. Absent: Councilman Daetweiler.
