The City Council of the City of Lyn~~rood met in a regular session , at the City Hall, 1131 Plaza Street, on above date, at 7:30 P. Ni. D~iayor Boster in the chair. Councilmen Lake, Prue ye:~~, Snyder and Boster answered the roll call . Councilman Daet~~veiler was absent. It was moved by Councilrr~an Pvieyer and seconded by Councilman Lake that the minutes of the previous adjourned regular meting of 1~Ia.y 8th, 1934 be approved as written. 'There being no abjection, same was ordered filed. An invitation was received from C. th. Johnston, Ford Agent, invit- ing the Council to attend a free talking picture to be presented at his plant on Itionday and Tuesday night, Ptiiay 14th and 15th. Mayor Boster ordered the invitation filed suggesting that as many as possibly can attend. A comrlunicatian was received from the 1934 Pdienorial Day Committee of Los Angeles inviting the Council and Lyn~:~,ood to participate in a memor- ial service on P,~iay 30th, 3934 at the Ia. A. ;<emorial Colisuem at Exposition Park, at 1:00 P. i~I., when special tribute will be given to the remaining survivors of the Civil 1~~Jar. There being no objection, the Nay or ordered same filed, suggesting that any one who can attend. An invitation was received from the Los Angeles County League of Iv~unicipalities inviting the C^uncil to attend their next meeting at I~r~onte- bella when I~Tew Legislation will be the principal discussion, said meeting to be held on Thursday, Pvay 17th, 1934, at 6:30 P. N. Mayor Boster request- ed all who plan on attending to make it known to the City Clerk in order that he can make reservations. 'The Health report _for. week ending ~~~ay 5th, 1934 was received and ordered filed. Councilman Snyder reported that he had contacted Pairs. Ozburn re- lative to the hauling of a tent to Lynwood, stating that she stated that they had abandoned the idea as they f'ovxid upon investigation that the building of a platform, etc., would be too great, and therefore they were not going to put on tre show at this time. A communication was received from Chief of X01 ice ~~a.iley re- commending that the Council order paint for the purpose of painting a pedestrian zone ~~.t the intersection of Atlantic and ceec~~wood, as it is badly needed; also recommending a ten minute zone be created in front of the Post office and t'~at the curb in front and about twenty feet each ~vay be painted green so as to designate this zone.
