ADJOURNED REGULAR MEF~PING JULY 24TH, 1934.
The City council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned regular
session at the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date at 7:00 P. M.
Mayor Boster in the chair.
Councilmen Lake, Meyer and Boster answered the roll call.
Councilmen Snyder and Daetweiler-.were absent.
In the absence o.f the City Clark, Deputy City Clerk, Mrs. Pearl C.
Morris acted.
It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman Meyer
that the minutes of the previous regular meeting of July 17th, 1934, be
approved as written. All memebers off' the Council voting aye, the motion
was declared carried by the Mayor and it was so ordered.

The Niayor and Councilmen expressed their desire to attend.
A communication wds received fror~i -azbineer ~3ateman that he had re-
ceived word from TYLr. Raymond Spencer, S.E.R. A., Project Engineer,to the
effect that Project No. 133, (Atlantic Avenue) had been approved and work
will commence an or about August 1st, 1934. Na action was taken at this
time, said matter being. carried over to next meeting.
ORAL CO~~T~tUNIGATIONS:
Mr. A. Kahle addressed the Council relative to the reversionary
interest vested in the City of Lynwood to enforce liquor restrictions on
property original7_y of Lynwood. Company, which Company had conveyed said
reversion to the City. The Mayor referred same to the City Attorney.
C. A. Ruby, Attorney, addressed the Council in behalf of Mrs. Mona
Spawn, who had made application to dance at her new Cafe located at 11188
Long Beach Boulevard, stating that she was desirous of a license or that
permission be granted her so that she might have same for her opening which
will be tomorrow night. The Mayor referred same to the Chief of Police
with. instructions that a temporary permit be granted.
Ordinance No. 238, entitled; " AN ORDINANCE Oi~'" THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING CEi?TAIN P~ESTRIAN CROSSINGS, n was read for the
second time. It was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Councilman
Lake that same be adopted, finally pass and be published as required by
law.

An ordinance of the City of Lynwood providing for licensing and re-
gulating the carrying on of certain businesses, professions, trades, call-
ings and occupations: fixing a penalty for the violation thereof; repealing
all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, was read for
the first time by caption It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded
by Councilman Plieyer that said ordinance be accepted as read the first read-
ing and pass to the second reading.

An ordinance of the City of Lynwood, California, providing for 'w'ire
Zones and Building Zones and amending Ordinance No. 141, was read for the
first time by caption. It was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by
Councilman Lake that said ordirian.ce be accepted as read the first reading
and pass to the second reading.

An ordinance of the City of Lynwood, California, establishing
water rates and amending ordinance No. 117, was read for the first time
by caption. It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman
P~~eyer that said ordinance be accepted as read the first reading and n~.ss
to the second reading. All members of the Council voting aye, the Mayor
declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered.

It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman Meyer
that said demands be allowed and warrants be drawn on the City Treasurer
for said various amounts.

The matter of I~r. Lyle Hadlock rendering special nightly services
to the Police Department was brought up a.nd discussed. Thereupon it was
moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman Meyer that Chief of
Police Bailey be authorized to pay 1'~r. Hadlock the sum of .15.00, for
said services rendered, a.nd upon roll call showed the following result.

Absent: Councilmen Snyder and Daetweiler.
Chief of Police Bailey reported to the Council. as to his findings
in regard to the matter of a stop sign at the intersection of Imperial
Highwag and Centurg Boulevard, that he could probably secure a sign for
50.00. Some discussion was then had, but no action taken a.t this time.
