The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned regular session, at the City Nall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date, at 7:30 A. M. Manor Roster in tt^e c~air. Cour_cj lmar. ?a~~e, P~eyer, Taetweiler, `"n~*der and roster answered the roll call. ORDINANCE N0. 243, entitled : "AN ORDINANCE OF TFiiJ CITY OF LYNtitt00D FIXING TFiL RxT~;S OF TIiXES Ai~D L~;VYlTuG TrX;S FU-T TiiE FISCAL YEAR BEGINiVING JULY 1ST, 1934 and :ENDING JUNE, 30TH, 1935" was read for the second reading. It was moved by ~,ouncilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman ivLeyer that said Ordinance be adopted as read the second time, finally pass and be published, as required by law. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Daetweiler, Snyder and Boster. Noes: None. City Attorney Kennedy reported that the case entitled Graefe vs. City of Lvnti^~ood, was dismissed upon motion of the Plaintiff, without prejudice, at the Court hearing held on August 24th, 1934. RESOLUTION N0. 917, entitled: RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OT THE CITY OF LYNUVOOD, CALIrA ORNIA, APPROVING A~`~'D CONFIRb~ING THE EMPLOYML~'NT OF SPECIAL COUNSEL IN THE PROCE~LDING Er?TImLED: "GRAEFE VS. CITY OF LYNWOOD", IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF APPEAL OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, SECOi~1D APPELLATE DISTRICT, CIVIL NUMBER 9919", providing for the payment to said special Counsel, James Mitchell ~ Leon T. David, of the principal amount of X500.00 for their services in the matt;er, was read. It was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Lake that said resolution No. 917 be adopted. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Lake that x:4,246.22 be transferred from t't~e T3ond redemption Fund (A. 7x I. No. 19 .fund) to the general r'und, and that X3,840.00 be transferred from the general r'und to the Mond redemption Fund to the credit of the 1915 improvement son act funds, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to apportion said amount to the series that he deems advisable and that warrants be drawn on the City Treasurer for said amts. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Daetweiler, Snyder and Boster. Noes: None. A communication was received from Mr: Frank P. T~lergen, 12,011 Long Beach Blvd. requesting permit to operate a dog kennel at said address. There being no objection, the Mayor referred the matter to the Building Committee for investigation, and report to the Council their findings and recommendations. City Treasurer Reed addressed the Council requesting that a warrant be drawn in favor of Ldith Young for X3.40 double payment of lighting assessment against the west 45 feet of Lot 73, Tract 2794.. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman T~Teyer and seconded by ~.-. Councilman Daetweiler that said demand in the amount of ;;3.40 be accepted and warrant be drawn on the City Treasurer for said amount. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Stnder, Daetweiler and Boster. Noes: None.
