M. Iviayor r3oster in the chair. Councilmen Lake, tileyer, Daetweiler, Snyder and Boster answered the roll call. WRIT' `t'EN COA~iu1UNICATIUN5 communication was received from Building Inspector Collins sub- mitting an application from Foster & Kleia~er for permit to erect an ad- vertising bill board to be located on Lot 80'8, Tract 3078, just south of Virginia Avenue, Mr. Collins advising the Council that the location is T50 feet from the nearest house, so it will not interefere with any other p17ce of business or sign. After due consideration the matter was laid over and Building Inspector Collins was instructed to investigate the '^ amount of rent that Foster & Kleiser pay for the use of Lots in the City of Lynwood. A communication was received from Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission, requesting the Council to send them a list of the pro- jects that the City have made application for through the P. W. A., as the P. W. A. Inventory Committee of the State Planning Board have requested their office to prepare a map showing the location and type of all public works projects in the County. -There being no objection, the Mayor directed the CityClerk to notify City Engineer Bateman to prepare a map showing the projects contemplated by the City of Lynwood and give other inf ormation as requested in their communication. A communication was received from L. A. County Harbor and Pier Association at Re~ondo Reach, rec~zestjng the Council to adopt a resolution endorsing Los Angeles County Hab~ar end ?'per at Redondo Beach, which would be constructed through the Board of Sux~ervisors of Loa Angeles County by P. W. A. Funds to cost,1,800,000.00 for construction of a Los Angeles County Yacht arbor and 170,000.00 for construction of a Los ~geles County Pier at said Redondo Beach. Councilman Lake addressed the Council on the matter to the effect that he doss not believe that the Council are in a position to k~iow the will of the citizens of Lynwood with respect to projects of such magnitude and therefore he does not favor endorsing same. However, after due consideration of the matter, it was duly moved by Coun- cilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Daetweiler that said RESOLUTION N0. 939, entitled: "RESOLUTION ENDOR5ING LOS ANGELES COUNTY HARBOR AND PIER AT REDONDO BEACH" be adopted as read. H'oll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Meyer, Daetweiler, Snyder and Boster. Noes: Councilman Lake. - ` The hour of 8o'clock P. M. having arrived, said time being the houro fixed to receive bids for the purchase off' gasoline for the period be- ginning April 3rd, 1935 and ending March 31st, 1936. The Mayor inquired of the audience if there was any one present who wished to submit a bid who had not: already done so,however, there was no response. r .Thereupon the Mayor inquiredeof the City Clerk if there has been any bids filed with him. y~hereupon the City Clerk submitted bids from six firms. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Coun- cilman Meyer that the bids be publicly opened and declared. Company Rio Csrande Oil Company Union Oil Company of California. ctanc~-and Oil Company and Associated Oil Company. _ Bryant O31 Company, all asubmitting bids of 122 per gallon,f or second grade structure gasoline and ~11Qy~ per gallon for third structure gasoline, including state tax of 3~ and excluding Federal tax of lye per gallon, and if the prices should ,t,_„ decline below the prices quotedthen during that period,, the G`ity to get the benefit of the reduction. - It was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Lake that the contract for one year be let to Shell Oil Company as per their bid submiti~ed, i. e. 12~'per gallong for Super Shell Gasoline and 112 per gallon for Green Streak gasoline, said price being a maximum ' price and in the event the prices go below said figure, in that event the City to get the benefit of such reduction. Noes : none. _ Reports covering the month of March, 1935 were received from the Building and License Collector, Fire Department, Police Department, City Cour-t, Health _Department, N. R. S. Mayor Boster instructed the City Clerk to notify all department heads to purchade all supplies and materials from local merchants whenever possible and prices are in line with other firms submitting prpposals. Mayor Bolter addressed the Council and audience to the effect that the new members of tre Council have been going along for 12 months as servants of the Cj tv, cw_rin~ which time theq have given every depart- ment head and thej.r personnel an op~orunit:~ to cooperate with them, stat- ing that they have not had full cooperation. from all em ployees, that ~- f ore, they feel that they must request the resignation of each appointive officer and employee and with such resignation they may file application for reinstatement, and to submit same by April lOtn, 1935 to be consider- ed by the Council at their regular meeting to be held on April 16th. Thereupon it eras moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Coun- cilman Meyer that the City clerk be and he is hereby instructed and di- rected to request of all appointive officers and employees of the City of Lynwood to submit their resignations on or bef ore April 10th, 1935, and advise those officers or employees desiring reappointment or reemployment to submit their application for appointment or employment on or before April Toth, T935. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer and Bolter. Noes: None. Declined to Vote: Councilmen Daetweiler and Snyder. It was moved by Councilman Daetweiler and seconded by Council- man Snyder that the meeting adjourn to April 16th, T935, at 7x30 P. M.
