HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1936-03-10 - CC~~t~ ~DJOU~t~D ~~~GU'LA~K xT"~~ING~ I~RCH 7.OthL 1936 The City Council of the City of L woad met in an adjourned regular session, at the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date, at 2- o' clock P M. - In the absence of tYiayor Boater, the ~:eeting was called to order by the City Clerk and upon roll call showed the following present: - Councilmen Iv2eyer, Nation and Snyder. - Councilmen Lake and I~Iayor Boater were absent. The Clerk announced that a motion wo~zld be in order for the appoint- ment of a temporary Chairman and i~Tayor pro tem. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Irleyer and Seconded by Councilman T,Tation that Councilman Cecil F Snyder be appointed temporary Chairman and I,Iayor pro tem. y~ere- upon-Councilman Snyder took his seat as Chairman. It was moved by Councilman %Ieyer and seconded by Councilman Nation ''' that- the minutes of the regular meeting of i:iarch 3rd, 1936 be approved as written. All members of the Council present voting aye, the Mayor pro tem declared the motion duly carried and~it was so ordered. A communication was received from Trlr~ Otto ~uetzel wishing to deal in used machinery, lumber and pipe at 3833 Josephine St. , and making application for a license to cover such business. There being no objection the matter was referred to 3uilding Inspector Kimmey for investigation and recommendation. Mr George Kennedy addressed the Council s~~bmitting proposed Ordinance for consideration of the Council dealing with the matter of sale of Fireworks, on behalf of the American Legion of Lynwood calling atten- tion to the charity work that the .Legion is carrying on for the benefit of Lgnwo od rx-gervic a men and various other benefits that the Lynwo o d Post is procuring not only for Legionaires, but for a71 ~-Servicemen. There being no objection the Ordinance was turned over to City Attorney for study; also that the City Clerk°propare copies for each member of the Council for study and consideration at the next regular meeting. - - `l'hereupan it was moved by Councilman-Nation and seconded by Council- man vley~r that the meeting adjourn to dIareh 11th, 1936, at 5:30 P M. moll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Itiieyer, Nation and Snyder. .-.
