DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
A discussion was held regarding items on the October 21, 2002 City Council Agenda. City
Administrator Rich Mays distributed copies of personnel pay classification plan which he
indicated is an attachment to the budget bill (2002 -64) which is scheduled to be voted on
at tonight's meeting.
Councilman Larry Vincent requested that presentations from the gallery be moved up on
the agenda so the crew members of the USS Jefferson City could leave to keep other
appointments. No objections to the request were raised. Councilman Richard Groner asked
questions about the makeup of the membership of the USS Jefferson City Submarine
Committee. He wondered why some members are required to have Naval background and
others are not.
Councilman Richard Groner stated he will place pending Bill 2002 -92 (contract with Jacobs
Civil) on the Informal Calendar.
City Administrator Rich Mays suggested the Council schedule a workshop to meet with the
Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitor's Bureau to discuss questions and issues
of interest to both.
Councilman Larry Vincent stated the city needs to make some type of funding available for
the evaluation of the Firefighters LAGERS program issue, and that it would probably cost
somewhere between $3,000 to $6,000. No other comments were made on the issue.
No actions were taken as the meeting was a Work Session only.
The Work Session ended at 5:56 PM.
