Mayor Boater in the chair. Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Nation, Snyder and Boater answered the roll cal l . It was moved by ouncilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Meyer that the minutes of the previous regular meeting of March 17th, 1936 be approved as written. All members of the Council voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. The Ma~ror asked for oral communications. Whereupon Mr Harrelly representing Harrell and Russel addressed the Council regarding their plan with respect to selling Lots in a subdivision dust east of the Lynwood Junior High School and requesting that the City furnish water ~'or houses as sane are built, stating that they will commence building on the Lot closest to Lynwood ald then sell and build on the next Lot next closest to Lynwood, etc., in order that it will not be necessary to spend much money thereon. Engineer Bateman reported in writing on the matter giving the e4st for extensions, stating that the Water Department could allow a credit of, approximately 110 feet of main for each active new service and make a net 10~ yield on its investment; also quoting figures to substan- tiate his contention. No action was ta?ten thereon, however, Mr Harrell was assured that _the Council will be glad to ~-ork with him and the Water Department will cooperate to tre f~~llest extent.. RRr ??arrell further states that it is his intents. on to have the Tract annexed into the ~',tv in order that they can get Lynwood service onfire and poll re ~rotecti on and car~+a~e d~ snosal. ~"d?~TTTEN COMMtTNICATIONS common ea on was received from Mrs C C Austin, Seer.etary of the Coordinating Council of Lynwood requesting to use the Council chambers for holding their regular monthly meetings on Mflnday, May tha 4th, and thereafter on the first la~onday evening of each month. Thereupon it was moved by councilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Lake that permission be granted as requested. All members of the Council voting aye, the May or declared the motion carried. Sergeant O~Shaughnessey addressed the Council inviting them to attend the Police and. Firemen~s dinner meeting to be held at the Woman's Club on ~'ridag night. The Ma°-or requested as many of the Council as could to attend. Mr H B I~immey, Building Inspector addressed the Council regarding house trailers, requesting them to give the matter some study as in the near future some action or ordinance need be adopted in order. to regulate same as they now move on Lots and it is difficult to remove sane without any regulations; a ho pointing out the unsanitary conditions created thereby. No action was taken thereon. A communication was received from Captain E W Lewis, stating that the Department are in need of new hose as at a recent test of hose, several lengths purchased in 1925, 1926 and 1928 bursted, recommending the purchase of 400 ft. of. 2~ inch double packet hose of a standard brand; also suggesting that the old hose he turned over to the t'Uater Department at 15~ per foot. All members of the Council voting aye, the Manor declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered. A communication Gvas received from ~rlr P H Rampey, stating that he is the own er or the iVorth 105 feet of Lots 10 and 12, Block 14, Bell® Vernon Acr®s, the south 145 feet being owned by Mrs Nellie Martin! how- ever, the lighting assessment has been erroneously assessed against the south 150 feet, thus incumbering the south 5 feet of his north 155 feet, ^requesting that same be corrected in order that the title may be cleared ~as it is now in escrow. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Snyder ~d ,seco nded by Councilman Meyer that the errflr in the records be corrected _as requested, and ghat th a City Treasurer be so instructed. 3~t~ All members of the City Council voting aye, the Mayor declared the mot ion duly carried and it was so ordered. Reports of activities of City Court, Police Depart- ment and Fire Department ~'or month of March, were received; also health reports. The City Attorney was instructed to submit his opinion on thematter of Inhalator service rendered by the Fire Department as to whether or not the City could be held in any way liable in the event of a death, and if a form for execution by recipient or other person is necessary in order to relieve City from any liability what- soever,and if so, he to 1x spare such form. An opinion was received from City tiLto~~ney Ruby ruling that Mr H E Miller is not the owner o~:` the pipe located in `1'raet No. 6575 through which the City is delivering water to consumers. RESULU'1'ZUN NU. 960, mak ing application to Post Office Department for two mail deliveries to all residents of the City of Lynwood, was read. It was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Coun- cilman Nation th at said Resolution No. 960 be adopted. Roll Call Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Nation, Snyder and Boster. Noes : None . NEW BUSINESS : ngineer Bateman reports on W P A projects now in oper- ation and those that have been completed, giving the number of men employed as well as the total cost thereof. ,,,~ The City Clerk submitted a communication recommending to the City Council that they do something about cleaning Lots of weeds in the City, recommending that a resolution he adopted to instit ute proceedings to proceed in said matter; al:=o suggesting that cards be sent to property owners to clean Lots or the City will make a charge therefor. The matter of renewal of bond of City Treasurer Reed i~ the amount of X15,000.00 premium beir~ X75.00 and the distribution of profits therefrom was brought up. `Thereupon it ~~Jas moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Councilman Lane that same be written by Mr H E Zeiser and that prof its therefrom be split equal ly between Insurance Agents H E Zeiser, A L Young, H G Rehfeld, Cls~zde Reber, F B Rowlee, George R Wood, and Edmund S Cavanaugh. AlI members of the Council voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. A bond in the are ount of X1,000.00 covering City Clerk Anderson as License Collector was submitted.
