HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1936-04-20 - CCMEETING OF CITY COUNCIL APRIL 20th, 1936 ~6 ~~ The City Council of the City of Lynwood met at the City Nall, 11331 Plaza Street, on~above date at `7:30 P NT for the purpose of canvass- ing the vote of the General Municipal Election and Special Election held on the 14th day of April, 103F, all as required by law. Councilmen Take, ~iPVer., Nation, Snyder and Boster answered the roll cal 1. jt ~aq moved by Coune~l_man Snyder and seconded by Councilman Never t~At we rroceed with the canvass nr t?~P refit~rns of said election. All members of the Council troting aye, tre Mai*or ~ec7 ared the motion duly carried. The City Clerk announced that he had received eight absent vote: ballots from 4 electorates. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Meyer any seconded by councilman Lake ttia t we proceed to canvass the votes of the absentee voters. All members oz' the council voting aye, the Mayor declare ....the motion carried and it was so ordered. Whereupon the City Council proceeded to canvass the votes as cast by the absent voters as required by law. Mayor Boster appointed Councilmen Snyder and Nation to act as tellers for the canvass of the returns. Thereupon it was moored by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Councilman Boster that said Resolution No. 961 be adopted. poll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, ''reyer, Nation, Snyder and Boster. Noes: None. ~~i) Thereupon .the City C1.erk presented the Certificate of Election to the newly elected o°ficers, Messrs,, Ralph W Lake, Van A Nation and Cecil E Snyder, of ter which the City Clerk imposed the constitutional oath of office to said o~'ficers as members c~' the City Council of the City of Lynwood, whereupon they were inducted into their respective office. Thereupon Mayor Boater addressed the bode congratulating the newly elected officers wishing them success stating that there are many problems before us which can be solved through the whole hearted cooperation of each member of the Council, which cooperation has been enjoyed in tre past urging the Council to aim high and press forward with all the vigor and honest ambition that we have in the past in order to make Lynwood a model home City with clean honest Government that can be pointed to as an Pxamrle o~' a master City where peace and harmony reigns. Mr A M Anderson also addressed the Council congratulating the newly elected officers and complimenting them for the clean manner in wh ich they conduct tree it mee tings wishing them God ~ s speed in their endeavors. J.t was moved by councilman Snyder and seconded by Council- man Meyer that the meeting adjourn to April 21st, 1936, at 7:.30 P M.
