The City Council cf tre City of L~=n•avood met ire an ad jeurned
regular session, at the City r_ull, 11331 Yiaza street, on above date,
at 7:30 P.M.
Mayor Boster in the chair
Councilmen h~eyer, Nation, and Boster were present.
Councilmen Lake and Snyder were absent.
City Engineer Bateman reported in writing on the mattez° of the
claim cif ivir. George Haaze regarding damage by burning to an apricot tree
and hedge when a weed fire got out of control, stating that he feels that
X25.00 is excessive, however recommending 2,0.00 would be a fair settle- ..,,~,
nient. Trereupon it was moved by Councilman T~Tation and seconded by Coun-
cilman Iyleyer that the Council accept the recommendation of Engineer
Bateman in this matter and that a warrant be drawn on the City Treasurer
in said amount of 20.00 to cover said item.

- A communication was received from Chief of Police Miller re-
questing that they confirm his action in dismissing Floyd D. Richardson

It was moved by uounuiirtlari ~~ieyer and seconded by Uouncilman
Nation that I'lIr. C1yde~Simpson tie appointocl as a member of the Civil
Service Commission to serve for a period of six years beginning on Janu-
ary 1st, 1936 and ending December 31st, 1941. .~.,.

It was moved by Co~xncilman T'ation-and seconded by Councilman
Meyer that the Council meet with the ladles interested :in juvenile girl
problems on next Tuesday night, at 7:30 P. ICI. All members of the Council
present voting aye, the I~2ayor declared the motion duly carried.
A plan was submitted of proposed sub-station to accommodate
patrons of the Pacific Electric Railroad Company at State Street ar~d
~o~^nwood Avenue. It was moved by Councilman Nation and seconded by
Councilman Meyer that we accept the plans to be built by the P. E. R. R.
Co., subject to the regular buildir_g perm~_t trrough the Building De-
partment. All members of t'ne Counc3.1 vot3.n~; afire, the Pl~a~ror declared the
motion duly carried. ,
