The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in adjourned
regular session at the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date,.
at 7:30 P.M.
In the absence of Mayor Boster, the meeting was called to order
by Deputy City Clerk Pearl C. Morris, who served in the absence of the
City Clerk and upon roll call showed the following present.
Councilman Lake, Meyer and Nation.
Absent: Mayor Boster and .Council Snyder.
The Clerk announced that a motion would be in order for the
appointment of a temporary Chairman and ~dayor pro tem. Thereupon it was
moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Councilman Nation that Council-
man Ralph Vd. Lake be appointed temporary Chairman and Mayor pro tem.
Vdhereupon Councilman Lake toak his seat as Chairman.
It was moved by Councilman Nation and seconded by Councilman
Meyer that the minutes of the regular meeting of August 18th, 1936, be
approved as written. All members of the Council present voting aye,
the Mayor pro tem declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered.

A communication was received from-Chief of Police Miller re-
commending that the City Council authorize the purchase of 18 ddhite re-
flector type Lane Lite Markers ~ X1.50 ea. and 3 Red reflector type Lane
Lite Markers ~ X1.50 making a total of X31.50, to be used as a center
line marker through the business section of Lynwood and will be sufficient
to mark the center line of Long Beach Boulevard from Mulforc~oAvenue to
the north end of Flower street, stating that they are equal.rtif nat better
than the paint stripping.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by
Councilman. Nation that the recommendation of the Chief of Police be
accepted and that he be authorized to pu rchase 18 white reflector type
Lane Lite markers at X1.50 each and 3 red reflector type Lane Lite Markers
at X1.50. All members of the Council present voting aye, the Mayor pro
tem declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered.

BEGINNIi1G JULY 1ST, 1936, Aim Lr1DII1G JUTTE 30'.PH, 1937." was read for the
second time. It was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Council-
man Nation that same be adopted as read the second time, finally pass
and be published as required by law.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen flfeyer, Nation and Lake.
Noes: None.
Absent: Mayor Boster and Councilman Snyder.
The hour of 8 o'clock P.M. having arrived, said time being the
time fixed for receiving bids for the furnishing of electric energy to
illuminate ornamental lighting standards and lamps on suspended mast
arm poles for the fiscal year 1936-37.
It was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Councilman.

The Southern Califarnia.Edison Co. submitted the only bid,
being as follows, said bid being accompanied with a certified check in
the principal amount of X1,200.00.

It was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Councilman'`
Nation that said bid of said Southern California Ldison Company Ltd., be
accepted and the contract for said work as called for in said agreement
is hereby awarded to staid Southern California Edison Co., Ltd., at tkie
rates and in the manner specified in its said bid, and that the Mayor
and the City Clerk of said City are hereby ordered and directed to execute

such contract in and for the City of Lynwood.
