A communication was received from Lee Anderson, R ~1tor, request- ing that he be allowed to snare in the prof its from premium on policies carried by the City as they pay a license fee. It was moved by Council- man Lake and seconded by Councilman Nieyer that the City Clerk be instruc- ted to communicatewith Mr. Anderson informing; him that the Council are unable to comply ~ti~ith his request as his office is located outsj.de the City limits of Lynv+rood and it is not the policy of the Council to give any profits to ti~ose residing outside the City limits. All members of the Council present voting aye, the r~7ayor declared the motion duly car- ried. A communication was received from F. R. T+2cGarvin with x'500.00 check attached making application for a license to conduct a ~ari-mutuel agency within the City of Lynwood at 11460 Long Beach F~lvd. t was moved by Councilman Nation and seconded by Councilman Iti4eyer that the matter be referred to the Police Committee to investigate the references submitted, and thereafter to have the power to act thereon and so advise the License Collector. Anna Nelson of Lodi who owns the dilapidated building located on Long Beach Boule- vard between Los ~`lores Blvd. and Imper ial remaining from the earthquake of 1933, appealing to the Council to give her 90 days extension of tim? to either remodel or tear the building down. The Mayor explained to Nirs. Ingram that Mrs. Nelson had bee given several extensions of time already and that the Council are not now inclined to give an ST further continuance, excepting as the Cit~r Attorney had already allowed, which is until October 10th, 1936. Richard- son for ~p60U.00 saJ_ary, claimed due as police officer of the City of Lynwood, stating that it is his opinion that as a matter of law the rite has a good defense against s:.~id demand, and th~~t there is pro- bably no legal liability existing against the Ci_t~, o.f Lynwood upon the matters stated in the dems~nd. Thereupon it was moved by council- man Meg er and seconded by Councilman Nation that the demand of Tt`r. Floyd Richardson for salary as a Police Of~'icer be disallowed and the City 'miler. ~~ be instructed to so notify Tyr. Richard son. An Ordinance of the Cit~r of Lynwood, California, prohibit- ing the sale of distributuion in, or the importation into, the cor- porate limits of the City of Lyn..~rood, California, of any milk, or cream or dairy products ferom any cow or goat infected with tuber- culosis; and requiring the testing for tuberculosis of every cow or go•~.t, the milk or cream from which is sold or distri'outed in, or im- ported into said City of Lynwood; and to pre~~ent the transmission of tuberculosis to human beings through the medium of milk or cream or dairy products, was introduced and read for the first time. It was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Councilman Nation that the City Clerk be authorized to purchase post cards to notify all property ovaners affected by the Mattoon Act south of the Railroad Trnct to come into the Clerk's office or Treasurer's Office and sign the peti- tions, requesting that refunding proceedings be initiated, and that he and the City Treasurer cooperate in sending same.
