The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a regular
session at the Citv Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date, at
7:30 P. Its.
Mayor Roster in the chair.
Councilmen b~eyer, Tlation, Snyder, and Roster answered the
Roll Call.
Absent: Councilman Lake.
Deputy City Clerk Pearl C. Morris served in the absence of
the City Clerk.
It was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Council-
man Meyer that the minutes of tre previous regular meeting of August
3, 193'7, be ~ proved as written. All members of the Council present
voting azre, the Prlayor decJ_arP~ t~P motion duly carried and it was so
ordered.

the position of switchboard operator, typist, and police matron, at
a salary of X100 per month, to begin August 20th, 1937. AlI members
of the Council present voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly
carried.
A communication was received from Chief of Police C. J.
lrliller submitting the name of Harry I. ^ox for a.bpoi_ntment to the
Police Department as a Relief Officer to fill tie vacancy during the
absence of Officer Joe Barer. Thereupon it eras moved by Councilman
Snyder and seconded by Councilman Nation that Chief of rolice blillerfs
recommendation be accepted to appoint Harry I. Fox temporarily during
the absence of Officer Joe Bai_ er at a monthlZr salary of X100 per month.
All members of the Council present voting; aye, the P,"ayor declared the
motion duly carried.

present who wished to submit his written objections to the doing of
said work, but there was no response.

ivatianal Cast Iron Jive Company ~-~e awarded the contract to furnish
Cast iron pipe for ~~ai;er Department ds per their bid, said Company
