The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned regular session, at the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date, at 1 P.. M. Mayor Boster in the chair. Councilmen Lake, Nation and Boater answered the roll call. Councilmen Meyer and Snyder were absent. It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman .Nation that Mr. .H. A. Naslund's sere-ices be dispensed with as of Jan- uary 15th, 1938. . .Roll Call: Ayes: CouncilmenLake, Nation and Boater. Noes: None. Absent : Councilmai Meyer and Snyder. It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman Na tion that the City Engineer and Mr. R. A. Moffitt be appointed a com- mittes to appear before the Board of Trustees of the Lynwood Elemen- •.,, tary Schools to make an appeal that they cooperate in the matter of payment of the reassessment levied against the Woodrow Wilson Sch ool • property for the refunding of Acquisition and Improvement Districts. No. 6 and 10. All members of the Council present voting aye, the Ma- yor declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered. A communication was received from the Southern California Conference of Seventh-Day Ad ventists to theeffect that the area of their administration building will exceed that permitted by City Ordinance, requesting that authority be granted f'or the additional area with suf- ficient exits as outlined to them by City officials. At this time Councilman Meyer arrived and took his seat at the Council table. It was moved by Councilman Nation and seconded by Councilman Lake that the Seventh Day Adventist Ir6titution be granted permission to build the additional area requested in their letter. All members of the Council present voting aye, the Mayor declared themotion duly carried and it was so ordered. RESOLUTION N0. 1042, entitled: "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUN- CIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,CALIFORNIA, DECi,ARING ITS INTENTION TO RE- FUND THE INDEBTEDNESS OF ACQUISITION AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 8 of SAID CITY AND FIXING A TIIE AND PLACE FOR HEARING", fixing February 15th, 1938, at 8 P. M. as the time for said hearing, was read. It was moved by Councilman Nation and seconded by Councilman Meyer that said Resolution No. 1042 be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Nation and Boster. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Snyder. RESOLUTION NO. 1043, entitled: "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, DE GLARING ITS INTENTION TO REFUND THE INDEBTEDNESS OF ACQUISITION AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT N0. 25 OF SAID CITY AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING", fixing February 15th, 1938, at 8 P. M. as the time for said hearing, was read. It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman Meyer that said Resolu- tion No. 1043 be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Nation and Boster. Noes: None. ~• Absent: Councilman Snyder. It was moved by Councilman Nation and seconded by Councilman Boater that the services of Mr. John Williams and R. W. Bell be dis- continued to take effect on January 15th, 1938. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Nation and Boater. Noes: Councilmen Meyer and Lake. Absent: Councilman Snyder. The Mayor declared the motion lost for the want of a majority. Thereupon it was moved by Coun d lman Lake and seconded by Councilman Meyer that the services of John Williams and R. W. Bell be suspended for a period of 60 days to take effect as of this date. Roll_ Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Nation and Boster. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Snyder. 1~9 Mayor Boster submitted a repot of certaininvestigation done by one Fred Ott, stating that he would recommend that he be paid X25.00 for such servi ce. After due consideration of the matter, it was duly moved by Councilman Lake that a demand be allowed in the amount of -25.00 payable to Mr. Fred Ott covering his services in connection with said matter, which motion was duly seconded by Councilman Meyer. Roll Call: Ayes: Coun d linen Lake, Meyer, Nation and Boster. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Snyder. It was moved by Councilman Nation and seconded by Coun- cilman Lake that the meeting adjourn to January 18th, 1938, at 7:30 P. M.
