HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1938-04-18 - CC ADJOURNED REGULARNTErTING APRIL 18TH, 1938 The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an ad- journed regular session, at the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date, at 7:30 P.P.Q., and for purpose of canvassing the vote of the General Municipal Election held on April 12th, 1938, as required by law. Mayor Bolter in the chair. Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Nation and Boster answered the roll call. Councilmen Snyder was absent. It was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Council- man Lake that the minutes of the devious regular meeting of April 5th, 1938 be approved as written. All members of the Council present voting aye, the Niayor declared the rriotion duly carried and it was so ordered. It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Council- man Meyer that we proceed with the canvass of the votes of the Gen- eral Bliunicipal Election held on April 12th,1:~38. All members of the Council present voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly car- ried and it was so ordered. Mayor Bolter appointed Councilmen Lake and Nation to act as Tellers for said canvass. Whereupon the Council proceeded to canvass the votes as cast at said election. The Tel]e"s reported that the number of votes cast in the various Consolidated voting precincts were as set forth in the Resol- ution proposed to be adopted and as reported by the Election Offi- cers, and as herein set forth, as follows: Total number of votes cast in said City was 1401. Thereupon it was moved by Council- . man Lake and seconded by Councilman Nation that said Resolution No. 1095 be adopted.. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Nation and Boster. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Snyder. A communication was received from the City Attorney regard- ing allowing .the name of the City of Lynwood to be ,joined as a party in the matter of a re-hearing on the present order for interim rates - granted the Pacific Electric Railway Commission of the State of Calif- ortnia, stating that it is understood that no expense is involved in connection the rewith,other than incidental expenses. The Council w~;s in favor of adding Lynwood'.s name to said application, and the com- munication was ordered filed. A communication was received from the City Attorney in re- gard to the proposed crbs3ing over the Pacific Electric right of way . at Bullis Road, stating that it will be necessary to close the present railroad crossing before the Railroad Commission will grant the ap- plication for the new crossing. Thereupon,: RESOLUTION N0. 1096, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF' `I'RE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYN+DOD, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS I~!'1'ENTION TO CLOSE THAT PORTION OF BULLIS ROAD CROSSING THE PACIFIC ELECTRIC RAILvV'AY COMPANY'S PRIVATE RIGHT OF WAY B~:TWEEN THE NORTH AdD SOU'T'H BOUNDARIES OF FERNWOOD AVENUE IN SAID CITY OF LYNWOOD," was read. It was moved by Councilman Nation and seconded by Council- . man Meyer that said Resolution No. 1096 be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Nation and Boster. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Snyder. . It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman Nation that the meeting adjourn to April 19th, 1936, at 7:30 P.I~~.
