HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1938-07-26 - CC~~~ ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING JULY' 26TH. 1938 The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an ad- journed regular session, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date, at 1:00 P. M. Mayor Nation in the chair. Councilmen Lake, Meyer and Nation answered the roll call. Councilmen Boster and Snyder were absent. In the absence of City Clerk Anderson, Pearl C. Morris, Deputy.Clerk served. It was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Coun- cilman Lake that the minutes of the previous regular meeting of July l9, 1938 be approved as written. All members of the Council present voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered. A communication was received from OtMelveny, Taller and ~•, Myers, with copies of memorandum of Agreement attached, stating that they had been requested to prepare the over-alI contract to cover services rendered to the City of Lynwood in refunding the indebtedness of various districts, and calling attention to the ~°° paragraph in the contract relating to litigation that they intend to bring the mand amus proceedings for Districts Ivo. 6 and ivo. 10 against the School Board without any fee therefor. Copies of said Agreement were given to each Councilman present to look over and the I~Zayor stated same would be taken up at their meeting of Aug- " ust 2, 1938. Thereupon RESOLUTION N0. 1137, entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LYN~'~OOD PROVIDTNG FOR PAYMEN'.C FOR BONDS OF ACRUISITIOiv AI~TD IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT N0. 25 AND DIRECTING CANCELLATION THEREOF," was read. It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Coun- cilman Meyer that said RESOLUTION N0. 1137 be adopted. Roll Call; Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Ivleyer and Nation. Noes: None. Absent; Councilmen Boster and Snyder. Thereupon RESOLUTION N0. 1138, entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LYNN.°VOOD PROVIDING FOR PAYittET1T FOR BONDS OF' ACQUISITION AND ITdPRUVEMETdT DISTRICT N0.8 AND DIRECTITG CANCELLATION THEREOF," was read. It was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded. by Coun- cilman Lake that said RESOLUTIOiti1 N0. 1138 be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer and Nation. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Boster and Snyder. Thereupon RESOLUTIONd NU. 1139, entitled "A RESOLUTIONd OF T~iE CITY OF LYNT'~OOD FOR ASSIGNTv7LTdT OF REASSESSD~IENT LEVIED UPOTJ PUBLIC PROPERTY IIJ REFUNDING INDEBTEDNESS OF ACRUISI~'IOP1 AND ITVZ- PROVET~ZENT DISTRICT IVO. 8 AND AT~IENDII~~G RESOLUTTOI~d ADOPTED JUNE 22, 1938," was read. It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded. by Councilman T1leyer that said resolution No. 1139, be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer and Nation. Noes: None. Absent; Councilmen Boster and Snyder. It was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Coun- cilman Lake that said RESOLUTION N0. 1140 be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilman Lake, Ta2eyer and Nation. Noes; None. Absent; Councilmen Boster and Snyder. It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Coun- cilman T~ieyer that the meeting adjourn to August 2, 1938 at 7:30 P. M.
