HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1938-08-08 - CC~~ ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 8, 1938 The City C©uncil of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned regular session in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date, at 1 P.M. Mayor Nation in the chair. Councilmen Meyer, Lake, Snyder and Nation answered the roll call. Councilman Bolter was absent. The hour of 1 P. M. having arrived, said time being the hour Pixed for hearing protests or objections to the proposed re- assessments in the matter of refunding the indebtedness of Acqui- sition and Improvement District No. 24 of the City of Lynwood, all as published in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circula- tion, and as posted along the properties affected thereby as re- quired by the Refunding Act of 1933, as amended. The City Clerk stated that Affidavits of Publication and Posting were on file in his office. The Mayor inquired of the City Clerk whether or not any written objections or protests had been filed. The Clerk stated that none has been filed. The Mayor inquired of the audience if there was any one present who wished to protest to the proposed reassessment. There was no response. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Meyer that the hearing be continued to August 16th, 1938, at 8 P. M. A11 members of the Council present voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered. The hour of 1 P. M. having arrived, said time being the hour fixed for continuing the hearing in connection with protests or objections to the proposed reassessment in the matter of refund- ing the indebtedness of Acquisition and Improvement District No. 15 of the City of Lynwood. The Mayor inquired of the City Clerk whether or not any written objections or protests had been filed. The Clerk stated that none had been filed. Whereupon the Mayor inquired of the audience if there was any one present who wished to protest to the proposed reassess- ment. There was no response. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman Snyder that said hearing be continued to August 16th, 1938, at 8 P. M. All members of the Council present voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered. It was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Coun- cilman dQeyer that the meeting adjourn to August 16th, 1938, at 7:30 P. M.
