ADJOURNED REGULAR ~,4EETING AUGUST 25TH,_ 1938
The City Council of the City of Lynwood ,met in an adjourned
regular session, at the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Str€~t, in the Coun-
cil Chamber, on above date, at 2 P.R~.
Mayor Nation in the chair.
Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Snyder and Nation answered the roll
call.
Councilman Bolter was absent.
The hour of 2 P.M. having arrived, said time being the hour
fixed for continuance of the hearing in connection with protests or
objections to the proposed reassessment in the matter of refunding
of the indebtedness of Acquisition and Improvement District No. l5
of the City of Lynwood.
The Mayor inquired of the City Clerk tether or not any
written objections or protests had been filed. The Clerk stated that
~, none had been filed .
Whereupon the Mayor inquired of the audience if there was
', any one present who wished to protest to the proposed reassessment.

Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by
Councilman Meyer that said hearing be continued to September 1st,
1938 at-1:45 P.~i. All members of the Council present voting aye,
the Mayor decla red the motion duly carried and it was so ordered.

The Mayor inquired of the City Clerk whether or not any

none had been filed.
Whereupon the 1~Iayor inquired of the audience if there was
and one present who wished to protest to the proposed reassessment.
There was no response.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by
Councilman Snyder that said hearing be continued to September lst,
1938 at 1:45 P.M. All members of the Council present voting aye,
the Mayor declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered.

A communication was received from Rdrs. Carl H. Weideman
making application to o~nduct a kennel at 3366 Cedar Ave. and request-
ing a license to sell Pekingese Dogs.
Mr. Weideman also was present and addressed theCouncil on
behalf of the application.
After due consider~tion of the matter it was determined
by the Council that they have no authority to authorize a business
license for the sale of dogs at said address as it is in the resi-
dential zone .
ORDINANCE N0. 300, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
LYNt~f00D FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES AND I~VYING TAXES FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1ST, 1938 AND ENDING JUNE 30TH, 1939", was read
for .the second time. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Meyer
and seconded by Councils^an Snyder that said Ordinance No. 300 be
adopted as read the second time, finally pass and be published as re-
quired by law.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Snyder and Nation.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Boster.
The following demands were presented:

It was moved by Councilman Meyer and_ seconded by Councilman
Snyder that said. den~s.nds be allowed and warrants be drawn on the City
Treasurer for said amounts.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Snyder and Nation.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Boster.
City Treasurer Reed addressed the Council on the matter of
authority to make certain transfers needed in order to clear his
records .
Thereupon it was moved by Councilrr,an Snyder and seconded

by Councilman Meyer that the City Treasurer be authorized to trans-
fer X500.00 from the various Interest and. Sinking Funds whiere Re-
funding of various Acquisition and Improvement Act Districts have
been completed and from the Special Assessment and Relief Fund to
the General Fund; and to transfer any balances which may remain to
the credit of districts heretofore refunded. in the Special Assess-
ment and. Tax Relief Fund to the revolving fund thereof, and. to
transfer sufficient amounts from the revolving fund to the dis-
tricts refunded whose fund balance shows an overdraft occasioned
by the operations necessary to the refunding thereof.

Ayes: Councilmen Lake, PJfeyer, Snyder and Nation.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Boster.
It was moved, by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman
Meyer that City Clerk Anderson be appointed as a delegate to the
League of California i~,unicipalities Convention to be held at Santa
Barbara between September 6 and 9th, incl. , and the City Treasurer
to be a;~~ointed to act as alternate, and that reasonable expenses
be allowed.. All members of the Council present voting ^ye, the
Mayor declared th.e motion duly carried and it was so ordered.
A deed was received from George G. Rdoerts and Daisy V.
Roberts wherein they deed a portion of Lot 5 of Upston Tract to the
City of Lynwood to be used. as a sidewalk and street .
Thereupon it was moved by Council~:an Lake and seconded by
Councilman Meyer th at said deed by accepted by the City of Lynvrood
and that the City Clerk be instructed to have same recorded in the
Recorder's Office of the County of Los Angeles, California.

Ayes: Councilmen Lake. Meyer, Snyder and Nation.
Noes : None .
Absent: Counci~.n Boster.
An audit report was received from Crenshaw, Diehl and
Edwards submitting report covering period beginning July 1Gt, 1937
and ending June 30th, 1938. There being no objection, the ~~Zavor
ordered. the report filed .
It was moved by Councilman Lake and sec~:~nded by Councilman
Meyer that the meeting ad ,journ to September lst, 1938, at 1:40 P.~~.
All members of the Council present voting aye, the P2ayor declared
the motion duly carried and it was so ordered.
