ADJOURNED REGULAR T'~~~iEETING SEPTEhnBER 1, 1938.
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned
regular meeting, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza.
Street, on above date, at 1:40 P."li.
A2ayor Nation in the chair.
Councilmen Lake, Meyer, Snyder and Nation answered the roll
ca 11.
Councilman Boater was absent.
The hour of 1:45 P.T~~. having arrived, said time being the
hour fixed for continuance of the hearing in connection with protests
or objections to the proposed reassessment in the matter of refund-
ing of the indebtedness of Acquisition and Improvement District No. 1~
of the City of Lynwood.
And it having been determined that no written objections or
protests had been filed with the City Clerk, a.nd therebeing no one
present to submit their protest either in writing or orally,
Therefore, it was duly moved by Councilman Lake and
seconded by Councilman Meyer that said hearing be continued to
September 6th, 1938 at 8 P.i~J~. All members of the Council present
voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried and it was so
ordered.

No. 24 of the City of Lynwood.

Thereupon it was duly moved by Councilman Meyer and seconder
by Councilman Lake that said hearing be continued to September 6th,
1938, at 8 P.~1. All members of the Council present voting aye, the
Mayor declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered.
The following demands were presented:

Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by
Councilman Meyer that the demar~ be allowed and warrants be drawn
on~the City Treasurer for said various amounts.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilman Lake, Meyer, Snyder and Nation.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Boster.
It was moved by Councihan Meyer and seconded by Councilman
Lake that the City Treasurer be instructed. and authorized to cancel
all coupons owned by the City of Lynwood in Acquisition and Improve-
ment Districts Nos. 15 and 24.

Noes: None.
Absent: Council:~n Bolter.
Letters were received from the Board of Supervisors of
Los Angeles County under date of August 19th, 1938 and August 22nd
and 24th, 1938 with certified copy of resolution adopted b,y their
Honorable Body wherein they authorize purchase and delivery of bonds
to the Treasurer of the City of Lynwood in connection with refunding
proceedings of Acquisition and Improvement Districts Nos. 15 and 24.
There being no objection, the P.~iayor ordered the communications filed.
Application wa.s received from P~arie Tribble a.nd Norman Gre-
gory Ross; also report from the Health Department of Los Angeles
County. There being no objection, the applications and report were
ordered filed.
A demand wasreceived from the County Tax Collector of L. A.
County that the City provide funds for the payment of all delinquent
assessments for all projects in the City under the Improvement Bond
Act of 1915, for which current assessments have terminated but which
have delinquent assessments for prior years still outstanding and
required by statute either by the transfer of general funds to the
interest and sinking funds of each of such districts or by the levy
of tax. There being no objection, the Mayor ordered said communicatic
filed and no further action was taken thereon.

City Treasurer Reed a.dd.ressed the Council to the ef~'ect
that tTzere are some reassessments that O'A/~elveny, Taller & ?~:?yers
refuse to approve because changes have been made on the reassessment
roll after same was recorded, stating that the ag~~regate amount is
X301.50, and that if the bond buyer refuses to take the bonds with-
out such approving opinion, in that event he would have to have
authority to make up the difference from same other source in order
to close out Acauisition and Improvement Districts Nos. 8 and 25.
Thereupon it Uaas moved by Councilman T,Zeyer ar_d seconded
by Councilman Lake that the Cit~r Treasurer be authorized to purchase
such bonds of A. & I. Dints. Nos. 8 and 25 that O'Melveny, Taller R~
Iaiyers refuses to a.prrove, from tpe SUecial Assessment Relief Tex
Fund.

Absent: Councilman Bolter.
City Treasurer Reed addressed the Council ,x+ith respect to
the situation that has arisen in connection with the refunding pro-
ceedings pending in Acquisition a.nd Improvement Districts Nos. 15 and
24, stating the t there are a number of bondholders atho have not sur-
rendered their bonds, suggesting that unless t'r.ey do so within a
reasonable time th=at Intr. PaToffitt be authorized to make a trip to Il-
linois to negotiate further therefor.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by
Councilman Snyder that r,Qr. T2offitt be authorized to make such trip
~F~-hen and if it develops that the .bonds cannot be secured by other
method, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to advance such
money as is necessary to make such trip.

Absent: Councilman Bolter.
It vans moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Council-
man Tdeyer that the Petty Cash in the Treas~.arer's Office be ~.nereased
by ~`~300.00 in order to provide for a.dvance~ made to employees going
away on their vacations, and that a demand be drawn on the City
Treesurer for said amount.

Ayes: Councilmen Lake, PJTeyer, Snyder and Nation.
Noes: None.
Absent : Councilman Bolter.
