ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 23, 1939.
The City Council of the City, of Lynwood met in an adjourned
regular session, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza
Street, on above date, at 1:30 P. M. '
Mayor Nation in the chair.
Councilmen Christensen, Lake'and Nation answered the roll
call .
Councilmen Meyer and Snyder were absent.
A communication was received'from F. P. ~/ilcox, Chief, Divi-
sion of Milk and'Dairy Products, reporting on all dairies within the
City of Lynwood, stating that there are six commercial dairies operat-
ing in the City, all of which are in food order with the exception of
two being operated by Wm. Vergurg and`J. Knudsen and located at 114th
Street and Alameda St., which needs considerable improvement in r®-
spect to the requirements for proper dairy buildings, stating that
there are no sewers available to properly dispose of the dairy wastes
and are being disposed in an open drain which tends to be conducive
to the breeding of mosquitoes and flies, recommending that the Council
take action in connection therewith.
Thereupon RESOLUTION 1166, in connection with said matter
was read. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by
Councilman Christensen that said Resolution No. 1166 be adopted.

Ayes: Councilmen Christensen, Lake andNation.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen Meyer and Snyder.
An Ordinance, entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Lynwood,
California, regulating vehi~l.ar traffic on the streets of said City,
and regulating the parking of motor vehicles, and esta blishing a 2
hour parking zone upon Long Beach Boulevard from Josephine Street
north to Century Boulevard and repealing Ordinance No. 15 and 177
and. all other ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent with
the provisions of this Ordinance; ar~d fixing penalty for violation
hereof", was introduced and read for the first time. It was moved
by Councilman Lake _ and seconded by
Councilman Christensen that said rdinance be accepted as read the
first time and pass to the second reading.
Roll Call:
Ayes Councilmen Christensen, Lake and Nation.
Noes: None.
Absent 'Councilmen Meyer and Snyder.
Mayor Nation stated that he has appointed Mr. George Peat to
serve as a member of the Lynwood Planning Commission to fill the ~e-
aney created by the resignation of Mr. Chas. G. Boater, requesting
the Council to approve said appointment.
thereupon it was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by
Councilman Christensen that said appointment be approved.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen Christensen, Lake and Nation.
Noes: None.
Absent: Coundlmen Meyer and Snyder.
Mayor Nation appointed Councilman Christensen, as Commissioner
to take charge ofthe transportation equipment of the City of Lynwood.
It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by~Councilman
Christesa~n that the meeting adjourn to l~areh 7th, 1939, at 7:30 P. M.
All members of the Council present voting aye, the Mayor declared the
motion duly carried and it was so ordered.
