The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an ad~our- red regular session in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Streets on above date,. at 1:30 P. M. Mayor Nation in the chair. Councilmen Lake, Christensen, Meyer, Snyder and Nation answered the roll call. In the absence of City Glerk Anderson, Pearl C:.Morris Deputy Clerk served. It was moved by Councilman Snyder and seeor~d~ed by Goun- cilman IUteyer that the minutes of the xm evious regular meeting of April 18, 1939, be approved as written. All m.~mbers of the~Coun- cil present voting aye, the TJlayor declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered. - Thereupon RESOLUTION N0. 1173, entitled :_ "RESOLUTI.Oly' AUTHORIZING DIREGTING AND GOIQFIRTJIING THE ACTION OF THE" CITY.-TREAS- URER IN PURGHASING BONDS OF LYNWOOD ACQUISITION AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT N0. 26, CATdGELLING CERTAIN BONDS OF SAID DISTRICT AND DELIVERING CERTAIN BONDS OF SAID DISTRICT TO THE TITLE INSURAAICE AND TRUST COMPANY UNDER A TRUST AGREETti~IENT ENTERED INTO BY SAID COT~~tPANY AND THE GITY OF LYNWOOD", was read. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Councilman Snyder that said Resolution No. 1173 be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilman Lake, Christensen, Meyer, Snyder and Nation. Noes: None Absent:None RESOLUTION N0. 1174, entitled: "RESOLUTION DETERPJIINING THAT THERE IS SUFFIGIENT MONEY IN THE INTEREST AND SINKING FUND TO ADEQUATELY PROVIDE FOR THE RETIRETv'lENT OR PAYMENT OF THE OUT- STANDING BONDS OF THE AQUISITION AND IMPROVETJIENT DISTRICT N0. 26 OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND ORDERING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LOS ANGELES C~?LINTY TO DIRECT'-THE CANCELLATION OF THE UNPAID SPECIAL ASSESSI~~ENT TAXES LEVIED TO PAY PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST OF SAID BONDS," was read. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman Ghristensen that said Resolution No. 1174 be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Christensen, Meyer, Snyder and Nation. Noes: None. Absent: None. Thereupon an Ordinance, entitled: "An Ordinance of the City of Lynwood, waiving certain delinquent penalties for the non- payment of Lighting Assessment, and declaring an emergency, was read. It was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Lake that said Ordinance be accepted as read;the first time, and pass to the second reading. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Christensen, Meyer, Snyder and Nation. Noes: None. Absent: None. A communication was received from V. A. Nation, tender- ing his resignation as Ptlayor of the City of Lynwood, stating that he finds it necessary because of personal business requirements, and expressing; his sincere appreciation to the members of the Coun- cil for•the fine support they have given him during his time as Mayor. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Snyder that said resignation be accepted with regrets and seconded by Councilman Meyer. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Christensen, Meyer., Snyder and Nation. Noes: None. Absent: None. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Ghristensen that Councilman Lake be appointed chair- man of the City Council and Mayor of the City of Lynwood. ~~~ Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Christensen, Pti4eyer, Snyder and Nation. Noes: None. Declined to vote: Councilman Lake. Thereupon Councilman Nation vacated the chair as Mayor and Councilman Lake resurned the chair as A~ayor of the City of Lyn- wood and Criairman of the- City Co~zncil. It was moved by Councilman Christensen and seconded by Councilman Meyer that said meeting adjourn to May 2, 1939, at 7:30 P. M.
