December 20, 1990
The regular meeting of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood,
California was held on Thursday, December 20, 1990 at 5:00 p.m. in
the Council Chambers of the Lynwood City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road,.
Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by
the Brown Act.
CALL TO ORDER
' The meeting was called to order by Chairman Litke at 5:10 p.m...
Roll call was taken by Gail Black, Bersonnel,Analyst II. All
commissioners were in attendance.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
: ' Led by Commissioner ,
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
- The motion was made by Commissioner Swift and seconded by
Commissioner Gilpen to approve the minutes of the regular meeting
, of November 15, 1990. All in favor. Motion carried.
STUDIES & REPORTS
The Board was requested to, certify the eligibility list for the
position of Office Assistant II. Commissioner Swift made the .
motion with Commissioner Lewis seconding. Al1 in favor. Motion
carried.
The Board was requested to.seview a proposed job specification for
_ Housing Rehabilitation Manager and recommend adoption of same to
, the City Council in the Classification Plan. Coaunissioner Gilpen
made the motion with Commissioner Lewis seconding. All in favor.
Motion.carried.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to conduct the motion was made by
- Commissioner Bell and seconded by Commissioner Swift to adjourn
'at 5:25 p.m.. All in favor. Motion carried. The next regularly
scheduled meeting will be Thursday, January 17, 1991 at 5:00 p.m.

SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR REINSTATEMENT
BACKGROUND
, Personnel Rules and ReguTations, Rule XIII, Section 5, provides for
a classified employee who resigns in good standing to apply within
one (1) year after resignation for reinstatement to the current
, eligibility list for the same classification from which his/her
� original appointment was made. Zf reinstatement is recommended by
„' the appointing authority, the Board may order the.name of the
employee restored to the appropriate eligibility list.
FACTS
1) William Shaffer resigned from the City on July 13, 1990 as a
Building Maintenance Supervisor in good standing.
2) Mr. Shaffer has requested reinstatement to the current eligi-
. bility list for tha above position as provided for in Personnel
Rules and Requlations, Rule XIII, Section 5(see attachment).
3) Mr: Shaffer's name wi11 be included in the current eligibility
list for consideration by the appointing authority if approved
by the Board.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve tha incluaion of William Shaffer's name to the current
Building Maintenance Supervisor eligibility list.
