I ` t ' • • CITY OF LYNWOOD YOUTH COMMISSION MINUTES NOVEMBER 6, 1991 OPENING CEREMONIES The City of Lynwood Youth Commission met in a regular session at the Teen Center, located at 11409 Birch Street on the above date at 6:10 p.m. Vice Chairperson Banks was in the chair. Commissioner Airada, Agaalii, Contreras, C. Green, Hardin, and Trigo answered the roll call. Chairperson Boykin, Commissioner S. Green, Wells, and Zavala did not answer the roll call. Ralph Davis, Assistant Director, certified the posting of the Agenda by the City Clerk. It was moved by Commissioner Agaalii, seconded by Commissioner Airada, with all in agreement, to approve the Minutes of the October 16, 1991 Youth Commission meeting. INFORMATION ITEMS Program Reports Ralph Davis, Assistant Director, reported on the results of the election and the fall program for the Recreation & Parks Department. Commissioner Perez,.�Wells, and Zavala arrived at approximately 6:15 p.m. Leo Rodriguez, Facility 6 Program Supervisor, gave an example of � the new bool�erkers and urged Commissioner Contreras to put them out at the A.S.B. Office at Lynwood High School. He also stated • the next Youth Council meeting would be Tuesday, November 12, 1991. i Swearing in of New Commissioner I I Ralph Davis, Assistant Director, reported Fernando Airada was sworn in earlier, by the City Clerk's Office, as a new Youth ' Commissioner. � . ; Softball Game on November 16, 1991 i Diana Escalante reported the next practice would be Saturday, I November 9, 1991. The game will be on Saturday, November 16; � � . 4 � � , 1991. She reminded the Commission, Commerce showed their support of our Youth Summit, and she encouraged the commission to do the same for the Commerce Softball Game. Commissioner Absence Ordinance Leo Rodriguez, Facility & Program Supervisor gave an explanation of the City ordinance regarding commission absences. Red Ribbon Program Evaluation Leo Rodriguez, Facility 6 Program Supervisor, gave a brief evaluation of the Red Ribbon Program on Saturday, October 19, 1991. Regional Concert Update ' Diana Escalante stated she had spoken with Eric Moore, Concert Promotor and was awaiting information and prices. They hope to have a summer outdoor concert with a variety of music. Two Youth Commission Meetings per Month � After a brief dis.cussion, this item was tabled and will be I brought back on the next agenda. Commission Orals I i Commissioner Agaalii expressed concern regarding the length of ! the Youth Commission meetings if they went back to one meeting i per month. I Commissioner Contreras apologize for not attending softball ; practice and welcomed Fernando Airada to the Commission. ; � Commissioner Perez apologized for being late and not attending ' the softball practice. He also stated he would not be able to I attend the game. i Commissioner Zavala apologized for not attending the softball i practice and stated she would also not be atile to attend the ; game. � Adjournment I It was moved by Co�issioner C.
