Minutes
September 18, 1991
OPENING CEREMONIES
The City of Lynwood Youth Commission met in a regular session at
the Teen Center, located at 11409 Birch Street on the above date
at 6:01 p.m.
Chairperson Boykin was in the chair.
Vice Chairperson Banks, Commissioner Agaalii, Banks, Contreras,
Hardin, Perez, Trigo, and Zavala answered the roll call.
Commissioner C. Green, S. Green and Wells did not answer the roll
call.
Leo Rodriguez, Facility & Program Supervisor, certified the
posting of the Agenda with the following corrections.
L.A. County Fair Trip on September 28, 1991 was noted
as being a Teen Center Trip. It should have been stated
as a City Wide Trip.
It was moved by Cov�issioner Zavala, seconded by Commissioner
Trigo, with all in agreement, to approve the Minutes of September
4, 1991 with the above correction.

Program Reports
Teen Center '
Leo Rodriguez, Facility & Program Supervisor, reported the 'i
Fishing Club now has a sponsor, and there is some intetest in
having an Electric Football club and Photo club. �
Recreation General
i
Ralph Davis, Assistant Director, welcomed the new Commissioners
and discussed the upcoming programs for Recreation 6 Parks.
Commissioner Davis arrived at 6:08 p.m.
Youth Council
Leo Rodriguez, Facility & Program Supervisor, reported on the I
last Youth Council meeting. ,

i � Pool Party
Diana S. Escalante updated the Commission on the upcoming pool
party. There was discussion on the various means of
advertisement for the High School. She also thanked Commissioner
Trigo for his assistance in promoting the event.
Commissioner Contreras and Perez volunteered to put this
information in the daily school bulletin and to become the
representatives for the high school to the commission.
Teen Center Anniversary
Leo Rodriguez, Facility & Program Supervisor, reported the Teen
Center Anniversary will be on October 17, 1991 at 6:00 p.m.
"Picnic in the Park"
Leo Rodriguez, Facility & Program Supervisor, reported on the Red
Ribbon, "Picnic in the Park" program that will be held October
19, 1991 at Mervyn M. Dymally Park.
Softball Game With The City Of Commerce
Diana J. Escalante, reported the softball game will possibly take
place on a Saturday in November.
Commission Orals �
Commissioner Davis thanked the Commission for a good 2 1/2 years
and then resigned from the Commission.
Commissioner Trigo welcomed the new commissioners and
congratulated Commissioner Davis.
Commissioner Zavala stated she spoke with Mr. Chae, at the
Marketplace regarding various special events taking place in
October and inquired if the City could help out.
Chairperson Boykin asked if the city could check into assisting
the Marketplace.
Vice Chairperson Banks welcomed the new co�issioners and
congratulated Commissioner Davis.
Chairperson Boykin welcomed the new commissioners and wished
Commissioner Davis good luck on his future endeavors. She also
inquired about the Commission �stipends from July.
Diana S. Escalante stated it was an oversight by the department
and checks should be mailed out by the end of the month.

Perez, with all in agreement, to adjourn to the next regularly
scheduled meeting on Wednesday, October 2, 1991.
