Minutes
September 4, 1991
OPENING CEREMONIES
The City of Lynwood Youth Commission met in a regular session at
the Teen Center, located at 11409 Birch Street on the above date at
6:05 p•m. '
Chairperson BoYkin was in the chair.
Commissioner Aqaalii, C. Green, S. Green, Triqo, Wells, and Zavala
answered the roll. New Commissioners Contreras and Perez were aiso
present.
Vice Chairperson 8anks was escused and Commissioner Hardin was
absent.
Also present were Tony Brown, Chairman Youth Council, and Danny
Riley, Vice Chairman Youth Council.
Harold Mattoon, Director Recreation & Parks Department, certified
the postinq of the Agenda by the.City Clerk.
It was moved by Commissioner Trigo, seconded by C�mmissioner C.
Green, with all in agreement, to approve the minutes of August 21;
1991.
INFORMATION ITEMS
' Proaram RePOrts
Teen Center
Leo Rodriguez, Facility & Program Supervisor, gave a brief report
on the monthly activities at the Teen Center. He also reported
there will be a trip to the L.A. County Fair on September 28, 1991
for the Teen Center.
Recreation General
Haro2d Mattoon, Director of Recreation & Parks, 9ave an updated
report on the degartment's current activities.
Youth Council
Leo Rodriguez, Facility & Program Supervisor, introduced Tony
Brown, Chairperson and Danny Riley II, Vice Chairperson and
reviewed the minutes with the Commission.' '
Chairperson Boykin thanked the representatives of the Youth Councii
for attending the Youth Commission meetinq.

POOL PARTY
Diana J. Escalante, qave a brief report on the upcoming You'th
Commission Pool Party on Saturday, September 21, 1991.
Lzo Rodriguez, Facility & Program Supervisor; discussed how t:
reqistration fee process will work.
CALENDAR REVIEW FOR 1991-92 '
Diana J. Escalante and Leo Rodriguez discussed the upc�mir,�
activities calendar for 1991 -1992. -
It was moved by Commissioner Trigo, seconded by Commissioner Welis,
with all in aqreement, to move the dates of the January meetings to
• the 15th and the 22nd, instead of the lst and 8th.
SOFTBALL GAME WITH CITY OF COMMERCE
Diana J. Escalante reported that she spoke With the City of
Commerce regarding possible dates for the Softball Game and stated
she would have a full report at the next meeting.
COMMISSION ORALS
Commissioner Green wants to take a new Youth Commission pictu�e Yor
the Teen center.
It was reported that October 17, 1991 was the mos't likeiy date, Lut
` an official date would be set at the next meetinq.
�Conanissioner Triqo conqratulated and welcomed tae new members o�
the Ycuch Commission.
Chairperson Boykin inquired about a new phone 1'ist for thE
� Commissioners and welcomed the new commissioners and was pleased
that they arrived on time.
Leo Rodriquez requested each Coromissioner leave their phone �umber
with him before leaving the meeting.
ADJOURNHENT
It was moved by Commissioner S. Green, seconded by i:ommissioner C.
Green, and carried at 6:36 p.m., to adjourn to the next mee�ing o�
Wednesday, September i8, 1991.
