The minutes o� the previous meeting were read and approved on a motion by Eckhoff and seconded by Van Deest. Motion carried. The treasurer's report was read and a motion by Huisman and seconded by Eckhoff�was made to file the report as read. Motion carried. Mir°� On a motion by Claassen and seconded by Van Deest, the follow- ing bills were allowed for payment: Aeilt Terfehn, salary �359.66 Herman DeVries, salary 35g.66 Henry J. Grobe, salary 72.00 Peoples Savings Bank, interest 180.00 Ackley Quarries, rock 69.19 Clary Concrete Materials, asphalt 68.50 The Wellsburg Herald, printing 4.80 Ross & Purvis, tractor rental 35.00 Blythe & Sons, sewer change over 127.50 Herman Hippen, snow hauling 45.00 B & H Skelly, gas & oil 116.99 Willard Ross Const., snow removal and level dump 224.50 United Telephone Co., toll calls 3.75 Iowa Electric Light & Power Co., heat, lights and power 545.26 On a motion by Claassen and seconded by Eckhoff the follow- ing establishments were approved for renewal of cigarette permits: Lindaman's Super Market, B & H Skelly, Boeke's Rexall Store, Hippen Tire & Battery, Wellsburg Tap, Henry Hippen Auto & Oil, Smith Cafe, The Pub and Junglings Gulf Service. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned on a motion by Huisman and seconded by Claassen. Clerk met in special session on June presiding and all councilmen 9, The meeting was called to discuss considering permitting the Uns_ted Telephone System laying underground cables in the Town of Wellsburg. T. J. Heronimus, City Attorney was notified of the proposel and would talk to the foreman of the telephone company. If any damage were done by the telephone company, the council was to notify the ci�t attorney.
