October 14, 1991
The re�ular meeting of the Community Access Advisory Board of the
City of Lynwood was held October 14, 1991 at the City Hall
Council Chambers. (The agenda c:as duly posted as prescribed by
the Brown Act.)
Jim Given called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. Members in
attendance were Bill Cunningham, Ann Fields, and Ada Mc2ea1.
Mary Wri.ght and Olympia Dudenhoeffer were absent.
Staff px�esent were Jim Given, Don Morris, Diana Escalante, and
Pat Alvarez.
The minutes of the September 9, 1991 meeting were held until the
nezt meeting for approval. There was one correction on the first
page, under members' attendance: Ada McZeal had an excuse3
absence on September 9, 1991 due to a death in her family.
Board members questioned difference between excused and unexcused
absence. Jim Given mentioned that according to the latest
, ordinace relating to absences from commission, board, and
committee meetings, there are no exceptions. Staff will look
into information on absences and discuss at Che ne�t regular
meeting.

A plaque of appreciation was presented to Mr. Rodney Washington,
who is a local producer. His cable show is entitled "Fiction I,
Theater". (Mr. Washington was not' present at the July meeting, j
when several local producers were awarded with a plaque of �
appreciation for their efforts in producing local community-
oriented shows.)

Don Morris informed board members that Showcase Host Workshops
are held twice a month to practice production methods, eschange
ideas, etc. The next workshop will be held on October 28, 1991.
Bill Cunningham suggested doing a ride-along segment with a Code
Enforcement Officer, to show residents some of the common
violations of the City Code. Jim Given informed board members
t}iat Katie Miller is doing a report on the functions of the Fire
Department and Lorna Hawkins is preparing another report on the
dut,ies of the Code Enforcement Department. Also, the City mailed
a pamphlet in both English and Spanish to all Lynwood residents,
hhich explains the most common City Code violations.

Minutes of the Meeting of
November 11, 1991
The regular meeting of the Community Access Advisory Board of the
City.of Lynwood was held November 11, 1991 at the City Hall
Council Chambers. (The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by
the Brown Act.)
Chairperson Mary Wright called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Members in attendance were Olympia Dudenhoeffer, Bill Cunningham,
Ada McZeal, and Mary Wright. Ann Fields had an excused absence.
Staff present were Jim Given, Don Morris, Diana Escalante, and
Pat Alvarez.
The minutes from the September 9, 1991 meeting were approved as�
distributed. The minutes from the October 14, 1991 meeting were
held for approval at the December 9, 1991 meeting. '
SCHEDULED MATTERS �
A. ABSENCES FROM BOARD MEETING
I
Jim Given distributed copy of Ordinance No. 1356, which �
describes absences from commission, board and committee
meetings. Excused and non-excused absences were discussed.
It was said that only extreme cases will be accepted as �
excused absences (such as death in the family, or illness).
Absences as they relate to the Community Access Advisory i
Board, will be evaluated at the next regular meeting.

PUBLIC ORALS
Jim Given announced the following:
- Armando Gonzalez will do Spanish voiceover of Lynwood
Showcases, the Spanish versions will be shown on
Channel 51.
- The Christmas Parade day and time has been changed from
Friday evening to Saturday morning. This year's parade
will be held on Saturday, December 7, at 10:00 a.m.
Mary Wright questioned advertising of the Lynwood Showcase in the
local paper, says she has not seen it publicized. Jim Given will
follow up and make sure the Lynwood Showcase is advertised.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:15
p.m.
